Just a thought I'd throw out there, does anyone else miss the capability to influence votes with the Palace and UN?
In Alpha Centauri, I remember that you could ask other leaders to vote a certain way in an upcoming resolution in trade for money, tech or other favors... I really liked this feature, as it could swing the balance of close votes. I know lots of things in Civ have taken a step back from SMAC (thankfully a step forward again in Civ IV with things like Civics and Vassals), but this is one thing I miss.
With the capability for rivals to stop wars or give away cities with the Palace, this would be very useful.
On a side note, another thing I still miss is a dynamic nuclear attack and interception system with interceptor pods... ah but we can dream...
