I stumbled across this unit gallery (http://www.battlefront.com/products/tow/Unit%20Gallery/Unit-Gallery.html) for the game "Theatre Of War". Although not .3ds models, each vehicle etc. is shown from 3 different POVs. Vehicles etc. are all WW2.

Quite helpful for those willing to model the units. Looks pretty good.
I think I will use some of the small arms images to help me along.
