Since I've gotten so many nice comments on some screenshots I posted of this stuff, I thought I'd post some of my terrain tweaks for general use. The basic terrain in the screenshots is Womak's modified; I don't know how these files work on other terrains. I plan to do a european pack as soon as I can, and I'll take suggestions for anything else in my poor power to do.

Good job, man. :goodjob:

Is that a map of Washington DC in the sceenshots?

EDIT: Shouldn't this be placed in the Graphic Modpacks section?

Yes, it's a map of Washington D.C. with modern road placements and tribal villages? I bet my house makes it onto the map too. :woohoo:

I'm guessing the top "river" is Rock Creek Park, while the bottom one is the Anacostia? Seems weird to me that Rock Creek is wider than the Anacostia, especially the bottom portion.

EDIT: By the way, if it isn't too much of a hassle, could you send me the map to my PM, I'd really like to have it for personal use.

That is absolutely amazing. The District map even more so.

Wow. I didn't expect this much feedback right away. I am humbled. Yes, it is DC. That's why (Kulade) I didn't put this thread in the Graphics Modpacks section: it's far from finished. I probably should have named this the "what do you think of it so far?" thread, but I wanted to make the work I've done available to everyone as soon as possible. It could also have been called "The K Street Project" mod in progress, as that's what I've named the bic. The concept is American Political Parties bashing it out in Washington 1800-present. D.C. Landmarks are the wonders. I would've liked to have the buildings appear on the map as they are "discovered" but, well, you know the limitations I'm working with. I've uploaded a s**tload of units for this, but I do have a few unit requests, if anyone is interested in helping. The trees (Goldflash) I did myself, amending and resizing (using Gimp) what I could find on the web. I think I put enough elbow grease into each one not to have to worry about copyright. Red Door: I hope we can put your house in here one day. Rock Creek Park ended up that way 'cause it looked like hell as just a lil' creek. The Anacostia will just have to be jealous. I would happily provide you with the map if you can tell me how to leech it from the bic file without leaving you with, say, volcanoes on the National Mall. I have put some more screenshots on image shack - hey guys, what's the best way to link to it? As for the bridges (Samez), I modified the terrain to make a bridge - if you don't mind blocking boat traffic, it's not a half-bad solution:

You could just PM me the files (with landmarks :mischief: ) plus the .bic or send them to my e-mail.

Done. Lemme know what you think, changes, fixes, snubs, etc. Anyone want a few unit requests? I put a wheeled vehicles request in the unit request thread. What I think my mod could use are: Klansmen (mounted and unmounted), American nazi types (brownshirts), suffragettes, Black Panthers, reporters, modern protesters, white-suited evangelists and lawyers. The usual suspects in D.C. Oh, and a President/King...

Good eye, Heretic! :scan: That's an image (among others) that I grabbed from the web thinking of future wondersplashes. Here are a few I particularly like:

http://img516.imageshack.us/img516/448/800pxfa18hornetbreakingol6.jpg
http://img505.imageshack.us/img505/471/washmonumentlv6.jpg
http://img505.imageshack.us/img505/2931/worldbankxd4.jpg

The last two would be useful for this mod. Sorry about the awkwardness of the posting, I'm still learning how to link to imageshack so that I have nice, compact pictures (nobody's answered my question about that, yet)

You almost got it right. But you need to put those imageshack links between image tags:

Thank you again, Mirc. And thank you Odin, CivAnon & Phlegmak. I can't tell you guys enough how much your encouragement means. Should I put a thread in the Graphics Modpacks section for the roads & trees? Open a new thread for the K Street Project? Or just keep going here? I'd hate to start cross-posting all over the place just to repeat what you've already seen.

For the graphics (highways and trees), open a thread in Graphic Modpacks. When you finish the K Street Project, you can post that in Completed Mods or Scenarios.

Ok, Red Door, done (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=237773). This is now officially the K Street Project Mod Creation Thread. No reason to start a new thread for that. I have some ideas compiled that I'll post here tomorrow. Any feedback on the map, now that you've seen it all?
