For those of you who can't watch the action live then follow it here: Yahoo world cup site (http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/en/t/m/1)
It does require regular refreshments though. ;)

Well if there was a football forum then you would no longer see all these football threads. If you feel so strongly you should PM TF to gives us a football forum :)

I don't think that there's enough of us Rugby fans here to warrant a forum of our own, sadly.;)

Yey! Senegal won 1 - 0. It does mean that I have 0 points in both world cup competitions but its a great result! :D

I don't think we need a whole forum to heap abuse on poor France, which got its derriere kicked. A few threads oughta do it. :)

By the way, the Yahoo WC site is sloooooooooow. They still have the game in progress, but Bloomberg News Service has already moved a story saying the game is over (and France lost. ouch.)

Well it could be a sports forum that would be dominated by the world cup at the moment...I just looked at the league table from the first competition site and only one person has 3 points, everyone else has 1 or 0 points :)

what a wonderful match! an african team beats the world champions from europe by playing very disciplined and tactical. however, i think france would have won with zidane. the french lacked accuracy in their passings in important moments.

this is going fantastic world cup and a fantastic summer. this time is it not just about europe and south america, it´s also about africa and asia.

Senegal for president! oh wait...that's impossible, right? A former colony of France beats its former motherland....mwahahahaha! Diouf the bomb!

Woogie woogie! Senegal to the second round, perhaps? Very realistic expectation now! :D

I love to see the underdog win...

They should win against Denmark or Uruguay so I think Senegal will get to the next stage although I don't know how far they can go afterwards...
