I live in a nation that, for all its flaws, has a high standard of living and allows a large degree of personal liberties. I have had access to a good education, both formally and informally. I belong to a loving family that provides emotional support.

That sort of thing?

I make this wondrous treat that is basically Cheetos without the cheese flavouring. I coat it in a candy that can be flavoured with things like apple/cinnamon ( sooooo good) or my latest batch that was mint choc flavoured. My next batch I will split in twain and do 1/2 with choc and 1/2 with peanut butter then mix the halves together like Reese's.

Its like candy and chocolate heaven.

I was thinking a little more specific and personal (though the family bit is pretty personal)..

Seriously he's the friendliest, funniest guy you'll ever meet. He sees somebody, and instantly the're best friends. He'd make a fantastic used car salesman. Hell he'd make a good used condom salesman:) Lol, he's just the most wonderfull guy, and I'm so lucky to have him...

I just played a show at the Newport Music Hal (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newport_Music_Hall)l yesterday. We didn't think the show went wonderfully, on account of poor monitors on stage (and the fact that the Newport seats over 1200 people, and we're used to playing in clubs much smaller)...but the manger told us after the show that he was very impressed, and would like us to headline a show there in the winter.

Despite my negativity about how the world's going to hell in a handbasket. Yesterday I went fishing with my girlfriend in our local river last evening. She caught five beautiful fish in 2 1/2 hours and I caught a grand total of zero. We went back to her folks place and her dad filleted the fish for us. At home I made some some excellent fish and chips for us at around 10:30 and have not died yet from salmonella or mercury poisoning. Nice!

In July, we had 44 here.... And yes it is annoying even for me, though normally I love warm weather.

So do get sponsorships for these contests or what? I dont know very many that pay for travel unless you're headlining, and that costs a lot of money.

In this case, someone (it's a very complicated story who he is) is giving me around 1500 Euro to go to this festival, the good part being that if I make it to the second round, I get a $500 travel refund (which is not going to cover my travel costs entirely, but still a good part of them), and I can hope for two prizes there. So normally, it shouldn't "cost" me anything, in the end. In fact, if I don't have to return the 1500 euro (which I can hope), I'm going to have a "profit", if I have certain results in the contest. :) And anyway, I have also another reason to go there... :mischief:

Boxing's taken a real dive in quality in the US, at least. With the myriad weight classes and the alphabet soup of organizations, it seems like everyone has a shot at the title (even those that shouldn't have a right to be in a title fight.

You mean like Bamba? (an Israeli snack sold by Osem that is also avaiable in North America that is essentially cheetos wiht peanut flavour instead of cheese)

God I hate dealing with the USPS. Spent an hour and a half roundtrip in mass transit getting to the post office to pick up the held mail from last week. I clearly stated on the form that I would pick up the mail there.

What happens? They search upstairs, then the clerk or whomever the hell the person was said "Yeah, it went out with a subcarrier. Sorry!"

Which of course means that I'll probably have to waste another trip there this week because the carriers here never actually bother to use the elevator to make deliveries (or if they do, they don't actually stick around for five seconds for the person to answer, or they just leave it in the hallway), the mail definitely won't fit into the tiny mailboxes in the building, or they just won't bother to do anything and I'll never know which bureaucratic black hole it fell in.

Should've known when I saw the clerk argue with three people on line "Go talk to supervisor! They don't tell me anything! Carriers just take crap and go!"

Holy crap! The mailman actually bothered to shove the held mail into my tiny mailbox!

Nevermind that even on the piece of paper accompanying the mail, it said, not once but twice, that I would be going to the post office to pick it up.

Now if only they could pay attention to the change of address my father put in nearly two weeks ago....

But, whatever, it's a Christmas miracle! Hooray!

My History teacher gave us an extra day to complete an assignment I didn't do!

I got lucky in Spanish class because I didn't do an assignment - but neither did half of the class so she didn't count it! :D (I knew the material, anyways, so it would have been useless.)

My math teacher gave us an extra day on our Quiz.

Finally completed a long run without passing out. Though 13.5 miles on a treadmill wasn't exactly the most interesting or scenic. But hopefully I'll be able to run in Saturday's meet, which is in the Bronx! I've never been to NYC.

Where in the Bronx anyway? I was thinking such things took place maybe on Randall's Island in that craptastic stadium they have set there.

I'm homeschooled, so no. The program I'm in is QuickStep, functions the same way pretty much.

Ok, new rave. I just got a critique on the first manuscript of my novel, and it came back exactly how I wanted. Well-thought out, in-depth, unbiased. I'm taking a break from editing to post here, and I'm really excited. If anyone has a first draft of a fantasy novel, I know a great critiquer. :D

I got the visa to enter the US! :D So after all the time when I've been so unsure whether I'm going to make it to the guitar competition I was trying to go or not, it finally seems I'm going to make it!! :D I only need the plane tickets and accommodation now.

Actually, I haven't got it yet. The woman girl (I don't think she was older than 23 :p) at the visa office told me everything seems to be all right and I have to come tomorrow at 3 to pick up my passport with the visa. :D

And also, I'm happy that right now the huge 8.5 GB file I was downloading got to 89%. But this pales compared to the visa! It's... I think... it's just as I dreamed! That I one day will make it to the tropics! To a beautiful paradise! :D

The company that I purchased from that ended up with the FedEx snafu sent out a new shipment. FedEx, seemingly forgetting what the word "Saturday" in Saturday delivery meant, delivered it today, the right way, with everything in tact. Thankfully I was there for it (though the phone call from the driver, who really was a "duh" kind of guy, woke me up).

So good job, company! You earned a repeat customer!
