In the Defense scenario, I can't buy technologies even if I have enough money. What happened?

I have already bought Trebuchets. I have about 700-1000 gold and it doesn't allow me to buy Scouting.

Every tech needs a certain amount of turns. You should see it in the tech screen.

Hope that helps. I spent the weekend to master this scenario. Took me a wile to get to level 20. :D

How the hell do you kill suicide Grens while losing your own units? I ran into this problem in level 13 I let them come, and my units died when when they did. So I attacked. Same result.

I'm wondering the same thing about Psycho Samurai's. Level 11. How do you kill them once they get to your cities?

I played tower defense in WC3 all the time, which is what this map is like.

Anyway there are some bugs in it like the frist zombie level got a stack stuck and forever screwed up the kills remaining and when a level would end.

How to beat the samarui and suicide guys:

Samuri kill all the units in adjacent tiles when they attack (well they always did for me). So you need to defend against them with no other units around the defending unit.

Suicide guys can be killed by any of the ranged attackers. Simply bombard them until they die. When they start to get mixed in with other units you need to be positive that you do not kill them with anything but ranged attackers.

I thought the scenario was quite interesting but ultimately very very easy once you master the scout/ranged combo.

Basically, the mobs in my game always went for the same city every time. So i had a stack of ranged attackers inbetween where they would come from and where they were going, a couple of scouts to make sure I could see up to max range, and then would just snipe everything dead with rare exceptions.

Another uniquie unit to be wary of is the elephants. They would ocassionaly "move" my units when they attacked. So if you defend in your city, you can lose the city without a fight.

Also not sure why, but if your units don't fight for a period of time they slowly lose strength. My maceman got down to 2 strength thanks to my large army of ranged attackers when the mech tanks showed up. I went from 6 cities to 1 in about 3 turns but was able to hold that last city until I won.

I managed to weaken a unit to .01 strenght, which my maceman killed and he immediately went up to 18 or 20 strength and would then fluctuate depending on factors I didn't have time to test.

For every unit over 1 in a stack, you lose 10% strength, up to 90%. It takes is out of the strength number, so the unit seems weaker.

I just ran into the tech problem. I just beat the Samurais (level 11), and I can't purchase even the first level techs (Riders) even though I have 1500 gold. This is a real problem, I doubt I can win without the higher techs.

Its not a money issue. Before, if I clicked on a tech, it listed the cost. Now, it doesn't even give me the chance.

Thanks,

I don't know if this is a bug or not, but I bought tech to get Melee Men and it says they are level 20.... Which is higher than all the attack power the remaining units have on the tech tree. I didn't realize that the samurai killed adjacent units so I will replay my save at the start of level 11. I guess that is why they demolished me :)

And yes, the bots just go for the same city everytime it seems.
