I've installed Vanilla Civ4 fine, this version is from when it first came out so no patches. And the computer I've installed it on has no internet access yet.

However, when I go to run it, a dialog box comes up saying there are known compatibility errors with this version of windows (Vista) and the program might not run as expected. When I click run program it gives me the error box again and I need to close the program.

Any one else have this problem? Is there a solution?

Download the latest patch, 1.74, to a USB drive or something and then patch your Civ4. It should work fine after patching.
