Sorry I don't do this normally but I've invested so much time in this game that I really want to finish it well.

Noble, Normal speed, 10 civs Pangaea Large map. Year is 1892 I'm in modern age and I'm Mrs. Brown (Victoria), kudos to anyone that gets the reference. ;) I'm in permanent alliance with Catherine.

Here are a few screenshots: the victory screen, diplomacy glance, power in the last 50 years and info screen.

I don't know what victory to go for. Is cultural possible???

Before I didn't think about Domination but in alliance with Catherine is domination a possibility? Frederick is my neighbour by the way.

One of my cities is building the UN and should be complete in 9 turns. Could we go for Diplomacy win?

What do you think?

We could go for space race, it's easy but I want to win something else preferably.

So domination, cultural or diplomacy? Please, help!! :)

It's 1892, by that point I think its impossible get a cultural win unless you're playing a "quick" game, but even then I'd need to know how much culture per turn your three cities are producing. I don't think a diplomatic win is possible, and the process of domination should have been started years ago. You'll probably want to shoot for a space race win.

I realize that domination is grasping for straws here.

I'm playing NORMAL speed game btw.

London and York are producing 200+ culture per turn. Hastings is producing around 160+ I think.

Do you think diplo is possible?

Space race is easy and I know I can get but I don't want.

Emphasis mine. You could chance a diplomatic victory, I guess, but my experience with diplomatic victories is that the computer is rather fickle. It might elect somebody else the winner if you put the measure forward.

Your only other option is a time victory, which is even more boring in my opinion. :p

I think diplomatic victory is your only other best option besides space race or time victory. Here is what I would do:
1. Grow, grow, grow! Grow your largest cities to be even larger, that adds the most population.
2. You seem to have good relations with a few other civs - see who is the largest and get at least a couple of them to friendly or pleased any way you can without compromising your security or ability to build the UN first.

good luck, it's worth a shot... but I would also say the diplomatic victory requires the most luck.

Well I get UN in 9 turns so I'll see how diplo turns out. The fact that I'm allied to Catherine, will that change AI votes?

Also, I have a corporation Sid's Sushi, do you think I should spread it to her cities to help her or will it do damage?

It'll do damage to both of you, I'm sure. Only spread to rival civs.

Ah but can't I use it to grow my cities further? I have the second largest population in the world, why not try to get #1 to get more votes for UN?

No, I don't think you understand. The computer uses corporations very liberally, she'll probably spread sushi to all her cities, even the ones that don't need the corporation at all, and bankrupt herself with corporate expenses. You should probably only use Sid's Sushi on your 3 or 4 largest cities, but be careful. Be sure you can afford the expenses without putting your own economy in the ditch.

Oh okay. Well I didn't send one her way but she founded Mining Inc herself.

Thanks for your help btw.

I actually did the maths and it seems as if I can get a cultural win. You need 50,000 culture for legendary right? I have London, York and Hastings all producing culture and my culture slider on 50%. If I keep this up all will hit legendary culture in 75 turns and I still have 148 turns to go.

Also, I got the UN and tried a UN vote. I got 600+ votes and needed 700+ votes. I failed but this was awfully close and only 4 out of the 10 voted for us. But what's interesting is that Catherine and I have the biggest number of votes so our votes already count for a lot. If I convert to Islam and convert Brennus and try and get his and Genghis Khan votes I just might win it.

I just want this game over and done with already.

Thanks.

Then run Merchants in all your other cities to make money, and turn the slider as high as it can go!

I will. But first, I'm going to try this Diplomatic win because I can feel it in my grasp. If I fail again, then I'll concentrate on cultural. Meanwhile, Catherine now has the biggest army in the world, I'm sure that no one will declare war on us. I hope.
