Hi –

I have played vanilla Civ4 and Warlords on this computer without any real problems. I just installed BtS, and now when I launch the game, from the moment the first screens start to play they are “stretched” so that I can only see the left side of the screen. When I get to the main menu, I can see part of the menu choices, and they highlight when I mouse over them, but nothing happens when I click on them. I am able to click on the “Exit Game” without any trouble. I downloaded and installed the 3.03 patch and it didn’t make any difference.

It’s worth mentioning that the previous 2 Civ disks were purchased in the US while BtS comes from the UK.

Does anybody have an answer as to why this is happening and how I can fix it? I’m running Windows XP, and haven’t had any problems up until now. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for responding, I appreciate it. Well, this is quite bizarre - I did "Print Screen" and when I pasted it into MS Paint, the image looks completely normal - no distortion, and I can see the full image.

So I took a picture of the screen with my camera to show you what I’m seeing. I hope it helps give you an idea of what may be wrong.

Thanks again for taking the time to look at this.

What resolution are you using? Have you tried to change your resolution?

Ha. A picture is worth a thousand words. What's your resolution?

What's your resolution?

1280 x 960 – Should I change this? And if so, why? Everything else has been running fine. Does BtS require something different?

I have the same problem with my BtS. My vanilla and Warlords worked fine. I tried changing the resolution but it didn't help.

I have this same problem. I realize this is an old thread, but there was never a fix posted.

welcome to cfc :band:
could you post your dxdiag results and describe your problem again - sometimes similar things are not the same :)

Thank you! I actually found the problem (drivers needed to be installed) but could not find this thread again to say so. I apologize!
