Anyway(out of point) Germany isnt as strong as they are ago in the last decade ,it is almost impossible for them to reach semi

I'm watching it right now and the score so far is 6-0 so your both wrong and this is one of the worst German teams in a while

I don't think Saudi A is good enough to be in the WC. 0-8! They must be the worst team in the cup. Germany didn't even play that good, but they didn't need to so it doesn't matter.

I think one of the BBC commentators said at the end of the match that it was the biggest score in the World Cup for around 20 years, but they still would have had to get two more to beat the current record, which is held by Hungary, I believe (10-1, IIRC).

Edit - Just checked the BBC website, and they state that it was the third highest scoreline in the World Cup. The highest was 10-1, when Hungary beat El Salvador in 1982.

I think that says more about how senseless these world rankings are.
Senegal is 42nd. Therefore 'worse' than Saudi Arabia. But they have beaten France...

The thing is, the FIFA world rankings aren't based on one-off games, although they do slightly affect the ratings of teams.

It's all down to the number of points an international team gets, and I think that past performances also count - which would explain why Senegal are so far down, despite being one of the best African teams this year.

Also Saudi Arabia gain points from winning Asian competitions regularily...

That one was a show! These suckers for the first time played as they should - spirited! What a pity they were up against an overmatched (though they never gave up!) troop from soccers third world.... I would have liked to see Germany play like that against a better opponent, England or France or Brasil.... then, we would have seen if they were any good! I guess the would have had a fair chance of a draw, but not more......

how are world cup seeds worked out for the groups (in the world cup)?

and how are mexico higher on the ranking than England? We are a better Team and even better than Germany ( were they a seed):confused:

Isn't it something like this: Tere are 8 seeded teams, including last years winners and I thin both hosts. Then the rest are split into pots representing different countries and then they are drawn at random. However the pot system prevents all the African teams being placed in the same group etc.

Glad to see that nobody is praising Germany for an "heroic" performance. The Saudis should be ashamed to be Saudis after that performance, they aren't actually that bad. 6 of the goals were through unmarked players, and you can only congratulate the Germans on thier finishing. They still aren't guaranteed qualifying just because they scored a hatfull.
