woodelf Aug 15, 2007, 06:10 AM winddelay has offered his services for some buttons. Thanks! And I'm hoping to coerce snipper into making some as well. I know he already has and I need to look back through them.
I thought we needed to get down to business and figure out some themes. We need:
Techs
Units
Buildings
Promotions
anything else?

I love the Moon backdrop. Any other suggestions or ideas?
woodelf Aug 15, 2007, 06:26 AM I really like some of snipper's buttons found here (http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=3888), but wonder if we can make a lunar theme in these or simply make pictures for the techs without a theme.

I think that backdrop and then some simpler symbol might look cool for techs.
Even that backdrop and differing colors for the other buttons as well.

I was thinking exactly the same.:)
If evryone agrees I will make backdrop for all the diffent button types and then someone else can add symbols to all of then.

I have already created some techs buttons which could work with SotM.
I suggest to use my Graphics Pack (posted yesterday) in the Modpack forum.
We have just to replace the CIV4TechInfos file by the SotM one and to delete the buttons which are not used...

Extra Life-Support (double movement in hills), Power Cells (double attack for vehicles), Jetpack (orbital drop for infantry), rebreather (+10% attack), remotes (+1 visibility), Stealth (infantry invisible for other units, but not for sensor facilities or something), Power Pack I --> III (basic promotions for infantry so other promo's can be obtained), Waldo Suit (+1 move for infantry), Sickberth (+10% healing rate for units, only a vehicle can have this promotion)

woodelf Aug 29, 2007, 05:43 AM Post 18 edited frenchman with descriptions. Basically it comes down to any image with a lunar backdrop can work. If it looks like science or learning and has that "moon" feel then it'll be perfect.
You can also go through the 100+ tech icons from the old mod and see if any can be reworked, maybe.

Most of these techs come straight from Civ4 - BtS. If all fails they can easily use their existing techbutton.
Seleno Geophysics is the research of the Moon itself, like Geophysics is research of the Earth by seismetic, electromagnetic and few other ways. Selene is Greek for Moon, like Luna is Latin for Moon. Let's just shorten this tech to Selenophysics. ;)

Fusion an Robotics also have buttons in Civ4 - BtS.
ONN is a far cry from artificial intelligence, and I already marked this as a third era tech.
Seleponics is hydroponics under a "lunie"name.
For Lunar Medicine a stylish combination of Matthewv's button (moon background) with a :health: icon instead of the DNA-helix would fit best.
Colonial Ethics is the general discussion on where and what society on the moon will develop, not solely issues about terraforming. Something like a cultural icon with a moon background would fit better.
Have to stop now, I'm not feeling well...

Personally, I prefer the big size, like Roamty says, CIV 4 is a visual game which deserves big pictures...
If we take the big size we can begin with my pack and the techs listen by Woodelf.
Whatever, I would suggest to begin with the techs which are already existing (even if we have earth in background... ;) ) in order to make the game working and after it will be possible to change them...
