Thanks! ebo Aug 17, 2007, 07:33 AM You can't do it with xml, but you can by editing a python file see http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=236160 Jaffa_lord Aug 20, 2007, 12:30 PM You can also (this could be false, but I did it in Rhye's) open the mod folder and find the ini file (shouldnt be hard). There might be a "Custom Senario = 0" or something along those lines. Change the "0" to "1". ShredZ Aug 23, 2007, 03:27 PM Once you get comfortable with the Defense mod the time factor becomes a non-issue - at the end of the game I was consistantly clicking 'end turn' with over a minute to spare. So at first you maybe get disscouraged by it, but later youll find it a non-factor. kirbystarfan Aug 27, 2007, 02:13 PM I'm not sure how to remove the limit, but you can press Pause on your keyboard to pause the timer. :) ShredZ Aug 27, 2007, 04:54 PM I didnt know about the pause button :mischief: but I did figure out that minimizing civ pauses the timer too (I play in windows mode). :crazyeye: Putchuco Sep 11, 2007, 12:39 PM You can't do it with xml, but you can by editing a python file see http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=236160 This was the easiest and best way. I did it and the Defense scenario became a LOT more fun to play. Next problem was then running into the 'still enemies left'-problem... I don't think there's a fix for that just yet. ebo Sep 11, 2007, 07:40 PM Next problem was then running into the 'still enemies left'-problem... I don't think there's a fix for that just yet. What I did was when the enemies left was down almost to zero I would just go into the world builder and delete any extra enemies that were left. I am not sure, but I think the error seemed to happen to me when I quit all the way out of CIV4 and then loaded into the middle of a segment. The patch 3.13 seems to have addresses just that, where certain counters weren't reset properly when reloading a game. And who could possibly play through the entire Defense scenario without saving, ... AND have a somewhat normal life..? ;) I'll try this scenario again once I get the patch on. Putchuco Jan 16, 2008, 01:39 PM I finally got back to playing the Defense Scenario, all the way from the start. But I unfortunately ran into the same issue. Starting with round 15 I had about 30 units left, when the counter hit zero. I'm playing with the 3.13 patch and the unofficial patch for 3.13. When I simply delete the remaining units in WB as ebo suggested above, but that reduces the Enemy counter for the next round, making it very easy... :( Another bug I ran into: I couldn't buy any more techs after round 12 or 13, although I had plenty of cash. Anyone any ideas? WARRIOR_MD Jan 19, 2008, 03:54 PM Can anyone please help me with the Defense mod issue? http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=259102 DarkSchneider Jan 21, 2008, 08:48 PM I just had the enemies left problem too. It started the tank round while there were still suicide bombers, samurai and elephants from the last round. I'm worried that each round after this, the same problem will happen again. Although I must admit that the tanks are the first hard round I've faced, or at least the first unit that's both strong and relatively quick. |
