I got a new PC with Vista and tried to install Civ3 Complete. My issue is that I can watch the intro movie, but after that, the screen goes black.

I've been trying to work with 2k about the problem, but them seem to be at a loss. They though it was an issue of DirectX9 vs. DirectX10, but even though DirectX was patched, I still have the same problem.

Could someone help me?

Hmmm. I'm sure this bug rings a bell. Do you get any sort of message from Civ3? Any error codes or anything?

Noppers. Not a word! What happens is that I go though the intro movie and then when you're supposed to get the start menu, I get a black screen. No error messages or anything.

Keep the faith. I'm running conquests on Vista Home Premium with no problems (well, some text that I think used to be blue is now pink, but that's ok)

The outcome of installing CivIII on Vista could be affected by comp type and memory space available, or even programs that your running. I have no idea how to fix this, but everyone seems to be having this problem.
