Hey all! I don't know how many Aussies (or people interested in AFL) are out there, but i'll chuck up this thread in case there's enough of you out there to make it matter.

So my question is, are the Adelaide Crows the best team ever? My answer is YES!!! unfortunately I didn't get to see their latest game since they didn't put it on tv. Apparently it will go down as a classic, the crows winning a thriller against reigning premiers Brisbane by just 7 points.

So now we are at the top, with 4 other teams. Could this be the rise back to power? Will there be more premierships on the way for the crows? What do you think?

Certainly not!!! Are you insane???

There is enough of this over exaggeration in the local media, let alone someone else getting sucked in...
There are plenty of other great VFL/AFL teams - Geelong of the early 50s, Essendon of the late 40s, North Melbourne in the mid 70s, Collingwood in the 20s, Hawthorn in the 1980s, West Coast in the early part of the 1990s, Carlton in 1995, Essendon in 2000, Brisbane over the last few years, and of course the Geelong team of the late 80s-mid 90s. :D

The Crows are doing alright at the moment, but it is still quite early in the season, and jumping on the bandwagon has yet to become compulsary.;)

It is probable that the Crows will win another premiership. But not this year, methinks. It can be seen as a continuation of the rise of last year from the comparative doldrums of 1999 and 2000, as compared to the glory days (or glory finals campaigns, to be precise :D) of 97-98.

And, to be honest, I don't give a rat's tossbag. :D

Bobgote you do have a sense of humour! You were joking weren't you?

Btw some more free advice (I'll start charging soon ;) ) restrict such insane comments about football to the internet - uttering such blasphemy in places like Puckle Street, Moonee Ponds could be terminal. :p :D

Btw Simon, I agree with your post but there was one important omission, you forgot to mention the '84/85 Essendon side, widely regarded as the best or equal best of all time.

Yep, forgot them, and the Fitzroy side of the early 20th century.
And Melbourne in the 1950s.

Yes, I'm always very careful whom I tell :) and I hardly ever wear my 1997 premiership t-shirt when I'm out and about in melbourne. Public stonings are generally a rare occurance, but I'm still not risking it.
And also, we're definitely going to be in the top 4 this year. And by definitely I mean probably. But once we're there, we're always a good chance to win. I think we're a better chance than Essendon this year too.
