View Full Version : Brazil - Turkey
curswine Jun 03, 2002, 10:21 AM Well today in the Brazil - Turkey match I was impressed by a few players.
On the Brazil side I was happy to see the return of Ronaldo (he still wasn't at his best) also someone who I think played quite well was Ronaldinho (who looks very much like one of my friends) he had few good chances and was unlucky to score but he did make a good playmaker to the strikers.
Turkey side really did impress me especially some good saves from Rüstü Reçber he was unlucky not to save the penalty from Rivaldo also Hasan Sas played well with a goal in first half injury time he was also making some good runs and was unlucky not to score a few more times.
I would be happy for others to post back and tell me their view of the game
Henrique Jun 03, 2002, 02:31 PM If you thought Ronaldinho played well today, just wait until the other matches: he can do MUCH better this for our team. ;)
IceBlaZe Jun 03, 2002, 02:41 PM Go Brazzziiiiil, my native country! :D
Pggar Jun 03, 2002, 03:38 PM I don't think Brazil played well, but since it was the first game it was good enough.
I'm also happy with Ronaldo come back. He's one of my favorite players.
I'm hoping that with Ricardinho getting into the group and maybe getting a place in the roster Brazil will play a lot better, but we'll have to see.
I was amazed by Hasan Sas. He played very well, but the rest of Turkey's team is not as good as him. They'll probably get the second spot of the group.
BTW, IceBlaZe you are from Brazil! I didn't know that!
Or do you mean that in another sense?
Crimson Sunrise Jun 03, 2002, 04:34 PM I too was pleased to see Brazil doing well. Turkey played well, but I though Brazil deserved to win. The finishing was a little less sharp that I'd hoped; Ronaldo missed a couple of shots that I would have bet money on him scoring. But we'll see how they do in the next two games. :)

My mother is from Brazil, and I'm also a part of the Brazilian culture sort to say ;)
Dell19 Jun 04, 2002, 04:42 AM Turkey played very well and it looks like they should definately win against Costa Rica and China. Especially after the Costa Rica game where neither side really impressed.
Godinex Jun 04, 2002, 10:49 AM Do You think? Oh... well. But I need to say something, the Costa Rica team You saw is not his A Team. Wanchope is injured, Medford the same and still have the surprise factor called Wilmer Lopez, He play only 15 minutes today.... so...
Myartar Jun 04, 2002, 01:26 PM If it were not for that horrible and costly misjudgement by the ref, the game would have ended in a tie. The Turkish player did deserve the card, can't argue w/ that, but the shirt pull took place out of the penalty box!
Baleog Jun 04, 2002, 02:47 PM Well Brazil deserved the win, to say that Turkey deserved a point because Brazil have such a history and such great players is unfair to the players of Brazil who were the better team, even if they are capable of a lot better.
animepornstar Jun 04, 2002, 06:42 PM brazil deserved to win, but the referee was a joke. did you see when the brazilians cheated on a turkish free kick? at least three brazilian players should have gotten a yellow card there.
FredLC Jun 10, 2002, 05:24 PM Can't argue with that... What Rivaldo did was really lame and it's repercussions here were not any good. Everyone saw that the ball have hitted his leg, not his face, and the pretending was obvious and obnoxious.
However...
It was unnecessary. It wasen't really a Turkish free kick. It was actually a brazilian corner kick that was going on. The turkish guy, upset buy the Brazil's second goal, got nervous, approached the ball and kicked it over Rivaldo, what is reason for the second yellow card and therefore exclusion despite the place it hits the player.
So, the only thing that Rivaldo accomplished with his foolishness was to create the image of a cheater, because either it had no real influence in the fair expulsion of the turkish player or, if it did, it convinced the judge to do the right thing... even if by the wrong means.
