I declared war on Chinese to get some resources around their cities but every time I conquor a city, make mine, and try to settle down, some sick neighbour civ next to China sends a settler right next to my new city. This's very very annoying. I know that a city just turned to someone else gets 0 radius and there is almost always some space to build a new city next to it but is there any way to stop AI from doing that? I feel like I do all the hard work and neighbor get all the advantages. I'm really pissed by that (from screenshot) cockroach-like behaviour of that nation, and I'm about to declare war on him to wipe all their ppl on the planet.
Xian is the city I just captured.

I assume amerium is the new city placed by the AI? There is nothing you can really do about it. as long as the city is outside your cities fat cross and cultural boarders they have the right to build there. My suggestion would be to raze Xian(it is in a pretty bad spot anyway lots of mountains and desert) and build a new city closer to the resource you wanted. Otherwise, ATTACK!!!!!!

Owww. That's too bad. But wouldn't it get worse if I razed it? It could've given AI more spot to build, i think.
TY for reply btw :)

If you are going to raze it then you have to have a settler there ready to plop down a new city. That does have the advantage that it will have a small cross right away, and you can put it exactly where you want it. You also won't have to wait for the revolt to end. As a negative the culture in the city will still be overwhelmingly chinese, so you will have people unhappy wanting to join there former civ once you get big enough. And with the default settings Xian cannot flip back to the Chinese, but a new city could.
