Well first I founded the 'Aluminum Co' in my capital and wondered why there weren't any corporate executives available in the build list (to spread its influence). I later discovered that I lacked the appropriate resource, coal, and that must have been why I didn't see the create executive option in the build queue. Then I founded the 'Civilized Jewelers' in another city which had gems within its radius. When I went to create a corporate executive in that city I noticed again that the option to create one did not exist. I have read and re-read the rules for forming corporations buy cannot find any explanation.

Two Questions:

1. Why was I able to found a corporation in a city which did NOT have the needed resource in its radius (but was available via trading)?

2. Why am I not given the option to create any corporate executives under both of the above circumstances?


I have all the new patches and also applied Solver's patch (which made my previously unplayable game - playable, Thanks Solver!) :D

Just after posting this I realized the reason why this was happening. Three words... 'State Property Civic'. Sorry for not catching that. Thanks!
