This thread is for those who choose to play as nations that are not included in Civ4 BtS. And the question is: which current civilization you use as your nation (i.e. I assume Canadians choose English or American civilization changing their name to Canadian, Polish might choose Russian - due to Cossacks), and which leader from existing you choose to be changed as leader for your nation?:cool:

For example:
I sometimes play as Duchy of Courland (there was such a thing in a territory of modern Latvia), for that matter I simply choose Dutch (Courland had oversea colonies) just rename them Courlanders and as a leader I use Willem van Oranje renamed as Duke Jacob (because he is from the same time period and definetely was financial)

Poles will never choose Russian... we'd rather play as anyone else and crush the Red.

...to answer the question, I either mod in my Civ, or play as one that reflects my mood when I start that game (ie, India if I'm passive, Germans if aggressive, French if... ok I'll stop). :)

(I secretly play as teh French often, I won't lie...)

Don't get me wrong though, i'd go an switch things to "polish empire" "polish" and "poland" and name all the cities after polish cities rather then russian.

I am Canadian.....And I choose Ghengis or Augustus quite often. If I see the Americans or English on my map, I attack until they are gone.......Sorry!!!:lol:

OT, but you Poles have something against modern Russia because of the Sovjet thing we all know so much about, however, playing as Czar Russia (Catherine, Peter) is not so bad, is it? I mean, Czar Russia was a completely different state.

Oh, and I play Germany to represent the stronghold my family owned there once :D Wieland Empire, Wieland (leader), Wielandstein (Nation name), Wieland (adjective)

btw, which German leader you use for Wieland?:)

I'm Polish but I prefer Rome. Probably even if there would be Poland in most of my games I would play as Romans :P

Civ 2 times,i have chosen Mongols,changed the leader names and city names.
Civ 3 times,i have chosen Greeks.

Game need Poland, because Eastern-Europe is under represented (check RFC or any World map). Poland is my third favourite nation, and two first are already represented.

Rome is first. Second is the greatest Empire ever- GB. BTW: Some people were calling me a nationalist because I want my third favourite civ in cIV. Can you imagine how they would call me, if Rome wouldn't be playable? :P

Yah pretty much. Also i use russia cause they have the nice Red Team Color. Japan has it to, BUT then i'll have Japanese workers and warriors...
