Tori Gate Mod updated 8/27/07 to play with Beyond the Sword version 1.3 by Roamty.
Has two Movies made by me, the Wonders The Yaoyorozu no Kami [Shrine_Shinto] The Sacred Tori
Gate at Miyajima Island [Tori_Gate], and added and the SHINTOISM QUOTE sound read by me.
SHINTOISM Needs TECH [PRIESTHOOD]
ADDED GIR'S [BTS Python/XML] UU Wonder Mod and change its python code: to use it for The
Sacred Tori Gate

Now you have a certain chance to build Unique Units (UU) instead of the Standard Units (SU)
in the city with this wonder.
In this version the chance is 50% but you can change it in the python file.
You can only get a UU of the same Unitclass like the Unit you built, e.g. if you build a
Swordsman you can only get UUs that replace the Swordsman -> Jaguar or Gallic Warrior or
Praetorian.

I try to make this as compete as I can. I'am just one more person adding a little more to
the mod.

Tori Gate Mod by Roger Bacon 1/21/06 Version 1.0
Inspired by Shinto Mod by Dual (included with this mod).
--WHAT IT ISN'T--
It doesn't contain any new graphics because I can't draw to save my life. It does include
the tori gate icons Dual made in his Shinto Mod.
--WHAT IT IS--
This adds a wonder called "The Sacred Tori Gate at Miyajima Island". It produces a combat
unit every 5 turns for the first three eras of the game. The list of units it can build are
determined by the technologies you have discovered. Since the units are recruited to your
cause and not created by your civ, you CAN get units that you don't have the resources
(horses, iron, etc.) to build.
--HOW TO USE THIS MOD--
There are three ways:
1 Use the tori gate with the Shinto mod (i.e. use all of the files included here):
To install, place the Tori Gate folder into the "Mods" folder of the main Civ4 directory.
To play the mod, first start the game as normal. Then choose the "Advanced" option on the
main menu. And then choose "Load A Mod". The Tori Gate mod should show up in the list of
available mods.
This Shinto mod adds a new tech, Shamanism, which grants a religion named Shinto to the
first person to discover it.
The Shinto mod also includes the religious buildings and missionary unit for Shinto.
But wait, there's more. You also get "The Sacred Tori Gate at Miyajima Island" World Wonder
that creates units every 5 turns. (like the Civ3 Statue of Zeus).
2 Use just the Tori Gate mod
Copy "Wonders.py" and "CvCustomEventManager.py" into your \My Documents\My
Games\Civ4\CustomAssets\python directory
Copy "CvEventInterface.py" into your My Documents\My
Games\Civ4\CustomAssets\python\entrypoints directory
Open "Wonders.py" in Notepad and change line 33 from: "wonderID =
gc.getInfoTypeForString("BUILDINGCLASS_TORI_GATE")" to any other wonder you want to have the
same effect. A sample line for giving the effect to the Oracle is commented out on line 32.
You can use that one if you want.
3 Use just the Shinto mod (now why would you want to do that?)

Interesting mod, I realize that you've basically made this a compilation of a couple mods and then added in the wonder. But I must say for the most part, everything works smoothly.

I've only played through one game though, and it's the wonder that concerns me. I'm wondering if it is a little too powerful and the AI can see it. Because as soon as it was built (about 15 turns later) Charlemane who I had a good trading relationship with, immediately declared war and then took my capital that had the wonder. After that, it wasn't too far off that I was completely routed.

Also there was a small graphical issue. Mostly with the religious icon in the leader quicklist above the minimap, the Judaism symbol was replaced with the cross of Christianity. Though I write that off as simply part of the original religion mod itself.

I'll play through a few more games to confirm my suspicions, but for the most part, good setup you have here.

Thankyou Jarod Cain You are right about the graphical issue I thankyou for pointing this out an here is the fix it was with the GameFont and GameFont_75 just copy and replace the ones is the Res/Fonts folder with these new ones.
