Finally it can be told.

Of 15 starters, five teams succeeded in persuading the AI to launch spaceships. CRC, Murky Waters and One Short Straw actually managed to get Gandhi into a rocket, and they win the three laurels in this game. Sad to say, Hannibal didn't know about the Gandhi agenda, and thwarted the other two Space-defeated teams - Geezers and Fifth Element.

Four teams won Time victories, having failed to persuade Gandhi to take flight. They were XTeam, VQ, Fistful of Dynamite and Gypsy Kings

Trash Team suffered a Time defeat, and Chokonuts lost by Conquest to take the Wooden Spoons.

Peanut, The Real MS. Beyond, Smurkz and CDZ could not complete the course, and retired.

So please join me in congratulating the winners and losers in this battle. At least we have demonstrated that the Warlords AI can be persuaded to win, which is more than could be said of their Civ3 siblings.

Congrats to CRC, One Short Straw and Chokonuts!

To Murky Waters, tsk tsk for squandering a golden opportunity to teach CRC a lesson... ;)

Many thanks to the admins for a well-designed challenge!

Congrats to the winners! This was a really challenging game, I'm thinking the GOTM staff bought some stock in makers of baldness treatment products and stress management medications before putting this one to us. I want my cut! :mischief:

Congrats to the three laurelist teams ... I'll have to go read how you got Gandhi to stay in school ... our Gandhi refused to learn much

Comiseration with our fellow time winlosers

On the plus side, GK did put on a rather spectacular amphibious thumping of the AI who had out-teched us (Brennus, Mehmed) for some bloody good fun and a learning experience ;)

As always, thanks to the staff for running the show! :thanx:

Yep, well done to the 3 teams that got Gandhi to launch. I found this one really hard to figure out tactics for. We just couldn't get gandhi to tech fast enough, getting a time victory instead (fistful of dynamite).

Congrats to all winners!

"..once more demonstrating the strength in depth of the Russians in this competition."

I'd like to give a more precise definition:
our team consolidates russian speaking players from Russia and Ukrain.

Well done everyone, especially to the Chokonuts for hanging in there for what must have been a painful last few turnsets in a Conquest loss. Were you hoping for some sort of miracle, or that everyone else suffered worse losses?

But I'm glad that just about everyone else struggled with this one, except those freaks who managed to actually meet the game objectives! Good stuff.
