So I've been playing and was thinking of a few options/settings I would like to see for diplomacy:
1. I'm tired of getting requests from the AI asking for open borders every few turns. I'm an isolationist bastard and don't want to deal with those requests. I'd like to be able to tell certain leaders, "No, and please take me off your telemarketing list!" And a response like that should stop them from contacting me for something like 20 or 30 turns, and it should come with a hit to their attitude towards me for that same period of time or longer.
2. I want to have somebody join me in a war as I want to take out 4 cities near me to wipe out the Roman empire. Problem is, there's a 5th city a little bit aways and blocked by Persian territory. Persia has been asking me to join them in a war against Rome anyways, so I want to request a more specific alliance with them. I want to ask Persia to join me in a war against Rome, and more specifically to target Argos. I'd essentially be giving Persia a not-so-random "event" to take Argos from the Romans where I give them something once they complete their mission (either cash, a tech, a resource, whatever). Or maybe I can trade events just like you would trade resources, techs, or whatever. Something like this:
I give: War with Romans and promise to take Rome
Persians give: War with Romans and promise to take Argos
Once both sides complete their end of the bargain, the deal is over and you get an attitude boost with the ally. If either side declares peace with the mutual enemy before completing their end of the mission, then there would be a negative attitude adjustment ("you dragged us into an un-winnable war" or "you deserted us during wartime" depending on who broke the agreement).
And if one side completes their end of the bargain, they have a right to then declare peace with Rome even if the other party still has work to do without it being considered "deserting us during wartime."
Any thoughts on if this is possible and if anybody would be interested in doing this??
