Its funny, I used to play this a while ago, and in fact I had a members account.

Then like with most games you go through a patch where you get bored, and you off and do something else.

Anyway due to a thread on here, I found myself thinking about the game, and I went back for a quick peek.

Its now a lot better. Even the visuals are now getting better. (Translucent effects through windows etc...)

Anyway to cut a story short, I have got back into it and am a member again.

Now Ive not played WOW, but for me I like the fact that runescape will work well on most modern machines, will work no matter what OS you run (as long as you can run Java), no heafty install and even if you do decide to go the members route it costs a massive £3.20 a month.

the other thing I like is that if you do go the members route, there is a lot of work done, adding things on a monthly basis, as well as even though it is a MMORPG you can either do the clan thing or play it as a normal RPG.

I have seen one or two people slag it off, but are there any supporters here especially if you have played in very recently?

My in game name is Toxitalk, say hi if you are passing!

I used to play, but now I quit. It's the same thing every day. Do this x amount of times. You get money. It's -so- boring.

That critism could be leveled at any game. What is true is that for instance the more the mine the better you get at it, and with practice you can mine for better rocks.

But that a side, you don't have to play it in that way, whats quite good is just having a ramble around doing odd quests as you go, talking to other players etc.

I spose its like that point in Elite where you enough in the game not to get killed off, and you realise that all you are doing is buying and selling from the sme few planets. What I tended to do at that point was just to explore. (with games like X and freelander this was quite cool as the cut scenes really added to the feeling that you were actually exploring.)

WoW is better in terms of all respects, except money. Seriously, if you lower WoW's costs (Which will never happen), I will play it like 24/7.

Runescape, is okay, and its cheaper. (Would you rather have 3 months of gameplay, or one?)

The free server thang is great. But don't you have to buy wow in the first place, and I have a intel embedded grx lappy with just a single processor and 768mb ram. Wont wow suck on that config.

I can't believe people play runescape. Have you tried playing any other free MMO's?

They mean private servers, but they are against WoW's Terms and Conditions, and you can't play with your friends.
