As for map parameters, apart from tiny pangea of course, I only ask that there are no goodie huts, to remove the random element. I would prefer to play on Emperor, but I suspect the BABEs would rather play on Regent. How about Monarch as a compromise? Barbs seem unnecessary for a deathmatch, but I'm open for anything there.

While we're waiting on cubs' turn, I would just like to raise the issue so we can agree on it:
I suggest that upon seeing each other, whoever makes eye contact first (by spotting a unit or walking a unit beside the cultural borders) must open the diplo screen (shift-D or the D button in the corner of the screen) (only way to open talks if you see borders but not a unit) and cancel the active peace deal. No trades.

This way it randomizes WH, we don't have to wait for someone to pull the trigger on a unit.

Not that I want to be the one to cause trouble, but such a ruling is clearly biased against the one who does his exploration with fast units, since he is roughly twice as likely to be the one to spot the other. And that someone would happen to be me, so me not like that rule. :mischief:

I agree with no trades though. Why not simply let the first attack decide who gets the WH?

Hmm, I actually missed that when I had that idea. Now I feel dumb. Well, you definitely risk being the first one to land an attack anywho, so I'll go for either version.

I think its set to always war with teams, or at least I attempted to do so. If the others dont show in diplo screen though this may have gone awry.

Nope, I was checking my emails in-between other civ turns, got the save within the minute it got sent; it was early in the game and I basically just pressed enter, sent back. Ideal scenario. Doing PBEM with someone over on MSN can be much faster than that.

According to my combat calculator, I calculate I had a 94.2% chance to win. Apparently I’m not offering sufficient sacrifices to the RNG. :sad:

Cubsfan has been busy. He said he'd let us know as soon as he's ready to jump back in. I'm a Mariner's fan... maybe that's why the RNG hates me? ;)

Wow, a Warrior beating a EW on a mountain, that's about the same odds as a red-lined AC defeating a warrior (which if memory serves me is how this whole thing started :D )

@denyd: No way. That AC had ~30% chance to win, this guy had <6%. But I would definitely have attacked just like Whomp did, even one hp damage could have proven lethal against the next attack, and that warrior had ~50% chance to do 1+ damage.

Over all the RNG has been really crappy for our team this game, IIRC I've won twice only, both times with Jags being attacked by regular warriors. We'll just have to hope it evens out later on. :please: ;)
