most mods that are created by teams are by people who have no idea who the others really are, with members spanning the globe.

Is there any other way to do it? I never created a mod before with people locally.

your question is a bit vague and hard to answer...but what i'm guessing you are asking about is called version control software http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Revision_control

it lets everyone work from the same files so as to prevent branching between two modders.

just ask to join a team, start to crate a mod, anything, really.

ah..yeah...just start a thread with your mod idea and ppl interested in helping out will contact you.....or find a pre-existing mod project that you want to help out on and msg the main mod with your ideas/skills

you were able to start this thread and post in it...that's all you need to get in touch with other modders
