So, after the first week of games, every team has played once, some twice; has the world cup been any good so far?

Bear in mind stupid referees and diving, cheating bastards and so on.

I guess the Cup has been allright, although some referees have been a bit off-topic in giving red and yellow cards.

Well I will reserve my vote until about 2 o'clock when a certain game that is being played today has finished...;)

Yeah, some referees have skrewed, but let's not forget that games have been
very, very exciting and surprising so far.

Dell : You live in Ea? Wow, didn't wouldn't guessed that one.

This has been a great world cup so far. Three favored teams look like they won't advance and the US won a game. I am a happy tired teenager.

I love it! Just having the usual favorites get sent home is enough for me. How boring would it be to have Brazil, Italy, Argentina, and Germany in the semis? YAWN. Time for some new faces in the final rounds, perhaps?

Spain? Sweden? Senegal!

Don't forget England and Ireland...I still think Italy and Brazil will go through and France and Argentina stil have a chance of qualifying, especially since its based on their results, rather than depending on a certain result in the other group game.

I liked it so far... especially the fact that a lot of the top teams have some problems... this makes it really interesting. I'm really looking forward to France- Denmark, Argentina- Sweden and Italy- Mexico :goodjob:

I haven't seen too many games and of the games that I did see I only watched parts. It has been quite enjoyable though, I am a big fan of offensive football and I've seen lots of that. :)

Best World Cup I have seen. Senegal beating France on opening day. England beating Argentina. The Americans beating Portugal. Ireland equalising in the last minute against Germany. Brazil. South Korea beating Poland. Japan beating Russia. And most importantly of all I have some hope that England possibly might be able to win it.

The openness of the competition is unreal.
Germany; no longer quite the world class team that they were for so long. And injuries hit them hard.
Italy; After watching the Croatia game, is it possible the most impenetrable international defence is cracking?
France; They're not out of it yet, and I wouldn't bet against them, but if they win the whole thing they'll have taken the hard route.
Argentina; most people's favouries, they'll probably go through but most of their top players weren't on top form last season.
Brazil; I wrote them of earlier. Now I'm not so sure. Though they have great individuals they're still trying to mould together as a team. They're defence can be suspect at times.
Portugal; The backbone of this squad over the past 8 years or so have all gone wrong side of 30 in the last couple of years. Nobody saw the US result coming.

In the past couple of world cups there have been some interesting semi - finalists (Bulgaria, Sweden, Croatia), and I'd say this year'll be no exception. But a team who has already won the world cup at some stage will win it again I say.
