Hello there,

There has been a few post & was also reported on the news that Iran faked the missile test photos possibly to exaggerate its military capabilities..if this is true...well that's pretty funny. You can read about it HERE (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=282703). Now to my civ, this time around I've "cleaned up" the layout of Iran / Persia. I've also added some style units. Half support for French / German / Italian / Spanish languages was added. Read the changelog to see what they mean.

Changelog:
August 1, 2008 - I've added a some more style units & I cleaned up the layout of iran to make easier to navigate when modding. I've also added half support for French / German / Italian / Spanish versions of the game. Now when you play in said language you will see the names & civiliopedias in English instead of just being blank.
Feb 10, 2008 - I've added more units and also I've added style units which gives more diversity to Iran. I've also added custom music to Mahmoud. I gave him Iran's national anthem. I was also able to add the Khomeini 3D LH Ekmek made...thanks

It should be Persia for Darius and Cyrus and Iran later on. It only became Iran during WW2. Then you had the Shah who might be interesting as a leader and then there was the revolution creating the Islamic Republic. Also i think it would be better to have Ayatollah Khomeini and Khameini. Or maybe Ahmedinejad instead of Khameini since theyre both in power at the same time (although i would say Khameini has more power).

It would also be cool to have Tamerlane as one of Persia's leaders as he was really important in the history of the area and shows that Persia/Iran has been around for more than just Ancient Persia and modern Iran in the 'axis of evil'

Yeah that's why I created two versions. The reason why I combined them in the "Axis of evils" was because I would get Persian & Iran on the same game. I'll make some changes in the upcoming week though, Right now I'm waiting for Firaxis new patch and I'm trying to see if the mods will be compatible.

Just some constructive criticism, the unique mechanized unit that you refer to in your mod as a Zulfiqar is actually a tank. The vehicle you are referring to is the Boragh which is the only domestic-type APC made in the entire country. That and it is tracked. It is essentially a BMP but without a turret, just a .50 machine gun in its place. Thought that you should know.

actually it wasn't iran just during ww2 but every since then, to my own distaste.

anyway I strongly prefer to play persia instead of iran but I do appreciate the effort put into this and the modern immortal. maybe you could add more unique units to the persian civ and do a separate pack of that.

Mr Black put together a scenario for Iran Iraq war using civiii conquest that I played and thought was excellent and as accurate as one can get. You might want to take a look at it for inspirational purposes. Although both Iran and Iraq have changed significantly since 1988, it would be an excellent derivative of your scenario to setup. A few observations are:
1-Iran has far more T-72S than Zolfaghar tanks about 500 versus 100- ver 1, ver 2 and ver 3. It has a manufacturing plan making T72S
2-Fleet of older attack helicopters
3-Large number of suicide bombers that are invisible - super spy type-I think this might be their special weapons
4-Large draft capability-can draft 2-3 times more from each city than standard
5-Suicide/torpedo boats
6-Create unrest and mini revolutions in most cities around its boarder

I think it would be an excellent game to play the USA vs Iran in the present situation to see outcome. Syria, Israel, Lebanon, Turkey, Iraq, the gulf council, Pakistan, and Afghanistan could be a part of the overall scenario...

i am NOT experienced with leaderheads, so I would be VERY pleased if u could 3D this guy, please dress him in something more appropriate.....i am including the nif (may be in wrong "format" cuz blender set at 4.2.2 thing for units), the texture.dds (non-shader?) AND the "virgin" blender file (hope u use blender) for u to play with...

let me know (in this thread or PM) if this is all u need or if u need someting else:D

wow. GarretSidzaka has done alot to swap stuff between leaders. Maybe its possible to put Lincoln or FDR's suit on Caesar. MAybe he can help.

Yeah I've seen alot of great work from GarretSidzaka but I've never spoken with him so I'm not sure he would be willing to help.

This is first-rate work. When I saw your thread, I was thinking that Iran = Persia, therefore the leaders should be integrated into the Persian civ, but after checking it out, it looks like it holds together pretty well on its own.

Total wildcard unique unit suggestion...why not the F-14? They're the only ones still flying it now that the USN put it to bed....I think that b/c spare parts and ammo were so hard to come by, the Islamic Republic was also using it as a sort of makeshift airborne early warning aircraft, so perhaps its special ability would be, say, +2 to line of sight? (Do you know if there's an easy way to do this for air units?)

as for your question, if you wanted to add +2 to the line of sight, you need to go into the the unitinfos xml file and do the changes there.

Didn't see anything in unitinfos that applied. I even changed Sentry so that it could be given to air units, then gave the sentry promotion to an air unit, and it didn't seem to have any effect, either.

You should do one for the Shah of Iran and the Imperial Iranian flag.

Iran has always been Iran, PERSIA is IRAN. Persia is just a word from Greeks to name the Iranians, because of the group "Parsa" who was ruling Iran. Iran has again, ALWAYS been Iran!

These "islamic" fags shouldn't have been put time on creating. They will lose in Civ just like they have lost in real life.

Dwolf, this module is for 3.17, does it means that is not usable with 3.13? (i've costumized my dll for 60 civs and not still upgraded for 3.17 - cause it was a lucky work and i'm afraid of be not able anymore :crazyeye: and i'm afraid also that other customized civs,customized units and customized LHs in my mod are not good for 3.17) what are the modifications that matches with the new 3.17? Sorry if it could be an alredy done question...
