I am currently playing a Marathon Huge game where between turns the game suddenly ends with no warning and no message. Actually, there is a warning, while I am waiting for the other civs the world screen shakes twice (is this an earthquake event, or a nuclear explosion?), then the game crashes to the desktop. Any ideas?

Sorry, forgot to add the save:

Have done a little investigating. The "earthquake" effect is the normal nuclear explosion effect (which I had never seen before) from some of the AI civs bombing each other. This is the first game I've played, out of 10 or so, where nukes have been used. I don't know if the use of nukes is connected to the crash, but I tried nuking someone myself, to see if that was causing the "earthquake", then nobody else used nukes that turn and there was no crash. Somebody please help, as I am really enjoying this game and want to finish it!

ok I just loaded it and it and it also crashes for me.
Since there is no error message its hard to tell what causes it. The new patch is expected any day now (it has been reported as finished by Firaxis on Friday) and has been reported to be able to load old saves. This will include quite a few of crash fixes. Try that if it still crashes the game please repost it here.

Thanks Ori. At least I know it's not something peculiar to my system now. It seems to be the "Crash to desktop at end of turn" bug in the consolidated bug report. The nukes shaking the world threw me so I did not recognise it as the same problem. Ah well, I have started a new game now, and will get back to the old one later. Roll on the patch!

PS Thanks for the welcome.
