After the last few disastrous threads, DYOS has been fortified with a host of new rules, in the hope of making your experience more enjoyable. We also feature a consul (see below) to try and keep DYOS fluent and fun. If you have any questions, ask the consul!

Rules of DYOS

* A poster can contribute ONE comic every 12 hours, and no more than ONE comic by the same poster at a time.
* No direct harm or spontaneous plot change involving another poster's character without said poster's consent.
* Maximum of 3 main characters per poster. Minor characters unlimited.
* Posters may use armies on the condition that they do not involve assaults against other posters. No army 'heroes', either.
* No flaming, period. Report infractions to a moderator.
* No unreasonable weapons or plot twists.
* NO time travel, NO parallel universes, and NO MAGIC.
* NO POWERGAMING!
* Nothing forbidden by the CFC rules.
* Above all else: RESPECT THY FELLOW FORUMERS!

Anyone who so wishes may contribute to the story. All artistic styles are accepted.
Please put effort into your cartoon. Avoid cheaply-done Cut-and-Paste, if possible.
Above all else, have FUN!!

The DYOS Consul

DYOS is now run by a consul. Any forumer who posts a cartoon is automatically entered into the consulate, and can debate on issues relating to the story. To avoid cluttering this thread, discussions will occur in a separate thread devoted solely to the consul (link below). To pass a motion, a majority vote of 66% of the consulate is required. If, however, a week has passed and no further action has been taken regarding the motion, the vote will be tallied as it stands. Members are suspended from the consulate if they have not contributed to the story for a week (they are automatically reinstalled when they post a new cartoon). If you will be inactive for a prolonged period of time, please be courteous and notify the consul beforehand.

The consul oversees the following:
* Planning and organizing the story
* Placing posters on probation (see below)
* Expelling posters from the consulate (and thus, involvement in the story)
* Decisions regarding the future of the thread itself

If a poster has violated any of the rules, the consulate will vote to place the perpetrator on probation.
1st Probation: 2 days between comics
2nd Probation: 3 days between comics
3rd Probation: 5 days between comics
If the offender continues to break the rules, the consul may suspend the offender indefinitely.

Note that the intent of the consul is not to control the story's contributors, but to improve plot coherency, and hopefully the story overall. Whether or not you are a contributor or observer, please feel free to voice your recommendations. We're here as much for your enjoyment as our own!

Well the staff is used for the purposes of moving the avatars to the prison. It will not be used on anyone else except my own avatars. Thorvald said the staff was ok as long as it was only used on my avatars

So, right now, I'm pretty much screwed and need someone to come to the ASC in Antarctica to rescue me. As for "Phase 2" That is a currently secret part of the avatar plan that can become anything, and someone else can make the Cyber-Alien and the Mindless Drone do whatever they want them to do with regards to the story. Remember that they currently control Rtas 'Vadumee's Phantom.

In DYOS 5 the Monkey Statue of Spamuzel (the objective of the entire quest) was found on page 2, but the story ran until page 93.

Those screenshots are from Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis. Loaded with third-party Middle-Eastern addons.

Not to go off on a tangent here, but all the scenes were hand-constructed by me (thankfully, the city is pre-built). I had to not only arrange all the people, but also place the waypoints and triggers so the action would occur with some degree of order. Then, of course, I ran around on the ground to get a good camera angle. ;)

Okay then, here's a short and mostly meaningless comic in which I introduce the new SEAL: Prophet SEAL (Shortened from Prophet-of-Truth SEAL), who has command over those who believe in the Covenant's Religion. Basically, that includes all Brutes, and the majority of Jackals, Drones, Grunts, and Hunters, although he has more control of the Brutes. Elites are exempt from this group, due to it being updated to the time during Halo 3, when the Elites know the truth about the Halos.

Currently, his objective is to harrass CFC's Omega Battleships as much as possible!

What storyline?

I think the plot is twisting too much. Because we're all using a space setting, anything can happen in this environment, so the plot twists dramatically because we're always flying through space and landing on other worlds

As for the rest, some comics really don't work without it.

Styles is really the only one doing comics with space travel. My last two that did were short and really necessary for the comic where Styles gave me the Arbiter ship to work. Plus, unlike Styles' comics, stuff happened in mine. :rolleyes:

The endless white/black space comics are mostly kill fire's or e350tb's. (EDIT: Sentence Deleted after noticing e350's edit) :crazyeye:

Yeah, but there are long periods in your comics where nothing really important happens (e.g., just fighting random space pirates), that's my point, where as my comics are usually short and to the point.

Well, if we're going with the teleport thing taking me to where styles and CG are, guess I'm there too.

Actually, it's a random teleporter: It teleports you to some completely random location, so long as it's a location a human could live (so, not in the sun's core, for example), and it's within 100,000 Light-Years of the location teleported from (In other words, it won't teleport you outside the Milky Way Galaxy).

Wanda just had the luck to be teleported to that location, and I really only did that because she was adding very little to my storyline, and thought that e350tb's storyline (I assume Timmy is with them also) could use it more.

To clarify: my avatars booted me out of the country, and while I'm in exile, they're ruling the Union. The MiGs in my previous cartoon are their response to Napoleon's invasion waaaay back here (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=6101334&postcount=172).

So basically I have two major plot paths that currently operate independent of each other: me in exile, and the 'rebels' in government.
