View Full Version : Bug with a Great Spy

I send a Great Spy in an enemy city and infiltrate him in the city.
According to the espionage screen, I should have enough points to enable all passive bonuses for that civ. Instead, I cannot see his cities, cannot open their screen, and cannot see the current research of that civ.

Edit: this doesn't seem to be resolved with the next patch. This is not in the fixed-bugs list.

Here is the post, before and after the action.

Note: this map has been created with the editor! I don't think this would be a problem! ;)

In Savegame 2 you see their research (Meditation) and can enter the city screen of york and have visibility in york. You cannot see cities you do not yet know that they exist, but that is no bug - even with huge espionage bonuses you still have to explore the map ;)

Ah, ok, I though that "city visibility" allowed to see every rival city!
At least, that's what I have understood by the Civilopedia.

Don't get me started on the Civilopedia :) that is may pet gripe about Civilization IV since its original release :gripe: - I still believe that they wrote it in the Alpha testing stages of Vanilla, never really bothered about in Warlords and in BtS actually made a decent effort to update it in the early Beta-stages  but still you cannot rely on it :gripe: and the manuals are worse :gripe:

I liked the "steal plans" mission from pre-BTS. They should bring it back with a comparable cost in EP.
