How do you like them? Which unit you like more?

Darque Sep 26, 2007, 09:41 AM Why did you put the sun disk on the torse of the japanese musketman? The sun disk wasn't even used as their flag until about 1870. It makes that unit look goofy.

Whant me to send the fix?
Darque Sep 26, 2007, 10:27 AM I believe that the Japanese musketmen used chainmail and bamboo armor. I will get confirmation of this shortly.
Walter Hawkwood Sep 26, 2007, 11:02 AM I like it how you've reworked my streletz unit, but it seems you've used a head from a leader, a very high poly object. I'm afraid it should have a negative impact on performance. You could have used a head from a horse archer that looks almost the same.

If there is a 'fix', please post it ;) (I assume it will be using the 'regular' look of your japanese industrial units)
Darque Sep 26, 2007, 12:24 PM Here is a pic of the Japanese musketeer from this period:

Well, there's already a pretty good Japanese Musketman in the database
mamba Sep 26, 2007, 01:02 PM I agree, I am currently checking out what to add and decided to keep the old musketman ;)

Is this true? Do you know the poly count?

Checked, 9666 for head (with hat and beard) only. Leaderheads are made with much more detail than units, as they're made to be viewed much closer.
mamba Sep 26, 2007, 03:37 PM Is it only the russian musketman or others as well ?

Now, that's not good. Zerver, are you gonna change it as Walter suggested?

Where can you find that Japanese Musketman? I looked all over, couldn't find it.
Darque Sep 26, 2007, 11:13 PM I know one is available here -> http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=166925
Walter Hawkwood Sep 26, 2007, 11:23 PM Is it only the russian musketman or others as well ?
Only Russian. Others are absolutely fine, as long as polycount is concerned.
