When I plug in my new video card, I can't get the box to boot.

I had first deleted the drivers for my NVIDIA card.

Then I popped card in and then nothing. I thought I lost the box. I then edited the boot.ini to add /basevideo, and I got the onboard video to work. I am giving it 16MB but I can't play Civ obviously.

I have tried everything.

What am i missing. I even have the on board S3 card using a MS driver. I leave the /basevideo in the boot.ini when I post with the new 9550. I get the BIOS and the XP splash and the a dark gray sreen. I hear windows load in the backgroud.

This is crazy. my goal is just to get the box to boot seeing video with the new card.

I can not boot to safe mode even with the current state of affairs. This box will boot normally, but not into safe mode.

And with new card, no booting in any mode.

Any advice?
