Uhm... this mod is intended to include everything that can be added using xml files, if I'm not wrong. So, I think that the name must be kept more general, not directly refering to Ethnic difference.
Diversity is general enough, so I voted for it.

Well, actually it's both of them.
It's a stand-alone expansion.
It doesn't include BUG, but it doesn't require it either: if somebody wants the flavor stuff but not the bug stuff, he can install only the FBUG mod.

That's why we need a new name. The only thing FBUG has in common with BUG is some of the team members. And lots of confusion. ;)

My name BEEF was a joke. I was trying to start the brainstorming of names that have a similar theme to BUG (BtS XXX) that form some sort of food/animal name as an acronym. This maintains the connection to BUG without implying that it includes the BUG code (and all the confusion that ensues). I originally thought FBUG was going to require (and thus include) BUG. Now that it doesn't, it's just painful for the users trying to get both and us answering the same query again and again.

To clarify (or confuse) even further, FBUG 0.06 did contain BUG 0.16, but going forward it will no longer?

I know the only thing I installed was FBUG 0.06 and I have all of the extra stuff like Enhanced Domestic Advisor, Civ4lerts, etc. When I do Ctrl-Alt-o I get the options menu.

Suggested name: BTS Ethnic Artstyles Mod (BEAM)

"BUG" is a great catchphrase but is also useful to describe the mission of the mod. BTS unaltered gameplay is a great summation of what the mod does, it enhances stuff but doesn't alter gameplay.

This mod has a separate mission: it doesn't alter gameplay either - it changes unit artstyles. The name should reflect that narrow mission.

To clarify, we are not renaming BUG. We are renaming FBUG, the flavorful mod created by some of the BUG developers that doesn't include or depend on BUG.

Think of it this way. BUG is a Chevy Nova, and a bunch of the guys working at Chevy decided to start refining gasoline that can be used to fuel any type of car, but they called it Novocaine. This implies some dependency -- like you can't use it to fuel a Dodge truck -- that doesn't exist, causing confusion.

I think first the team needs to decide if they even want to change the name. If they decide to change the name, FBUG shouldn't be one of the options. ;)

Careful with your claims. The majority of the people who voted have gone with FBUG. I'm pretty sure more than 15 people use our mod, and who knows what they think.

Keep in mind that it's the team that will have to continue fielding questions about whether or not FBUG includes BUG, or depends on it -- not the users. Therefore, it's up to the team to decide whether or not a name change is needed. I recommend you do that first. If the team says yes, make up a bunch of names and then set up a poll. People aren't that good at open-ended polls like this.

BTW, Diversity is the name of a cheat program for a Quake 3 mod I play, so if I have a veto, I'd use it there. :)

In the spirit of making fun acronyms for FBUG rename:

BFD - BtS Flavorful Diversity
BFG - BtS Flavorful Game
BSD - BtS Sings Diversity

FWIW I voted for Diversity in the poll.

What would really help for me is if someone on the core FBUG team could post exactly what it contains at this point and summarize its mission/goal.
