View Full Version : Who had that "fake" 3.13-patch?
Ethric Oct 05, 2007, 03:37 PM 3.13 broke direct IP MP, at least for me and the guy I play with, but I saw in one of the lenghty "Where's that patch already"-threads someone had made a file with some of the modifications (blitz for ships etc). Would be nice to have some of those changes even though I can't use the patch. But I can't find that post. Possible it got deleted along with a bunch of arguings. So, anyone around that can help? :)
Alterantively I could make one myself, but that'd take hours (I don't know where most stuff is), and would be daft trying if someone more savvy had alreayd done it.

akots Oct 05, 2007, 05:10 PM All MP games including Warlords and Vanilla are broken because the patch had updated Vanilla and Warlords files for some unknown reason. So, if you have BtS 3.13 you cannot load a Warlords 2.13 PBEM save to play.
This is just outrageous especially since it came without any warning.

Don't know. But I do know that Bhruic did a fix for some common issues. Unfortunately, his unofficial patch doesn't fix the direct IP bug. I haven't tried direct IP yet, but if it's as simple to fix as the other bugs, you shouldn't have to wait very long. Without having even looked at the bug (iow, I have no clue, but I'll still make a guess), I'd guess that it's related to random events. 3.13 added Solver's events, so I bet they messed up the MP event synchronization.
Ethric Oct 05, 2007, 07:22 PM For now, we adjusted in easy stuff like 30 str on attack subs and blitz for ships. But OOS, now, seems like something ominously internal code-like. I mean, OOS can show up seemingly at random or be triggered by various ingame functions, like ctrl H and drafting. Seems hard to pinpoint. But a fix would of course be great.
At least the patch game swiflty and without ado *runs off* :p
CivAgamemnon Oct 06, 2007, 02:46 AM Okay, I have two PBEMs going with the Warlords 2.13 patch. One is protected, one is not. The one that is protected won't load, but that one that is not loads just fine.
Conclusion: treat this like a new Vanilla/Warlords patch, unprotect the game (remove the admin password), play a turn, re-protect if you desire.
Might fix it, but I'm not sure. Any luck with that, anyone?
Ethric Oct 06, 2007, 04:46 AM Th won't load-issues seems different from the constant OOS-issue. Though we did have problems getting games to load with the few changes from the patch that we did make, we had to put them into the install directly without using the custom assets folder. Don't know if that's related, but I for one thought that was what those folders were for.
