I figure i'll start a thread for the unit of this 'ere mod. Mostly because i've been having pallete issues

Can some lovely person please make this into a fully owrking unit, or at least a Photoshop complatible ACT pallete?

I had a look at it (and it looks great, btw ) and i played around with importing the pallette from Muffins's's's Rhino. The only thing i could see that really was affected was the tentacle became more dull.

I can try it like this a post it to see if you like it

Thanks a lot by the way for doing this :)

On another note, i've been playing around with this for the Witch Hunter:

http://forums.civfanatics.com/uploads/52574/WHFlamerPreview.gif http://forums.civfanatics.com/uploads/52574/WHLaserPreview.gif

One of the GW models looks a lot like utah's Partisan, and looks like he is armed with a flamer, so i did that. the laspistol attack used the same method as my lascannon team attack a while back.

thanks to vuldacon for centreing the flamer attack :)

Now that is impressive.
Yeah, could you try that pallette? :)

Thank you Lord, for getting Quinzy those 2GB of RAM, and for his and Dave`s awesome talent. Thanks for some other stuff too, but that would mean going OT.

Tentacle, tentacle, tentaaaacle... :bounce:

Humm... Seems fine. Try it with the animations, to see it the Civcolours work?

aaglo
Oct 07, 2007, 11:02 AM
I think that the civ-colours should work, if they work in the still image... :)

That's a tentacle? At first I thought it was some piece of wood stuck in the side of that rhino (?), but maybe I just didn't know what to expect :)

And the witch hunter is totally cool
Burn, heretic, burn!

Quinzy
Oct 07, 2007, 11:12 AM
Haha, it's a tentacle. You can see it clearer in the actual animations.

LizardmenRule!
Oct 07, 2007, 06:03 PM
I've converted all the storyboards into animations and the civcolour works fine, and i've tested in game and somehow all the animations have managed to be centred :D That's the first time thats happened to me ever, ever!

Anyways, i'll PM you the file

Hey guys!
Any suggestions for me (on what to make for the WH40k-mod)?
Should it be the Lizzy's trukk konvershun?

Stormrage
Oct 16, 2007, 03:11 PM
Ooh! An aaglo trukk would be awesome! :D

LizardmenRule!
Oct 16, 2007, 04:58 PM
You could probably use the new trukks as seen in the sneak peek (http://uk.games-workshop.com/sneakpeeks/warhammer40000/default.htm) at the UK Games Workshop site if you wanted, but i wouldnt object to mine :D

Could (or couldn't) the workbee act as a servitor? There's clearly a cockpit for a person, but is it for regular humans only ;)
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=65270

And could some of these be used for imperial guard (unless they are already considered, I don't recall :) )

The workbee could act as a placeholder I guess, but as far as the Guard is concerned we have enough units for a Catachan force, or if we are going Cadian the Starship Trooper by Navy_Dawg is an excellent placeholder.

Here's an updated WIP-preview of the ork trukk (with a V-10 engine). There'll be a platform behind the driver, where an ork will be handling a twin (or maybe a quad)-linked shootas... or maybe something bigger... like twinlinked rokkit launchas - what would you suggest?

Stormrage
Oct 21, 2007, 03:31 PM
I vote shootas! Looks very cool :)

Odin, thats great news :)

Third preview of the ork war trukk. With a kustom paint job.

Any suggestion on the model? Red or blackish paint?

Stormrage
Oct 22, 2007, 03:12 PM
Its great! Keep the colour! One thing tho, I think quad linked weapon are connected in a square pattern not a line. It should be 2 shootas and 2 more benath them. The Box of Death :D

Oct 22, 2007, 03:14 PM
Hey Stormy... they are Orks... :p - and they remember seeing something like that some 40.000 years ago... used by the stunties in the field of battle :D

LizardmenRule!
Oct 22, 2007, 04:57 PM
Looks great

My only suggestion is that, since a wartrukk is a troop transport, the tray could be either widened or lengthened a bit and have a couple of orks in there as passengers

aaglo
Oct 22, 2007, 11:11 PM
But since the land transporting thingy isn't good in the hands of AI (I don't actually know how well would that work even for human players), I wouldn't find it necessary. Especially because this thing already is showing two orks, which is excessive according to my standards :p

LizardmenRule!
Oct 23, 2007, 03:24 AM
I didnt mean make the unit a transport in game :)

But fair enough

aaglo
Oct 23, 2007, 10:45 AM
I did some tiny adjustments to the model:
- changed the quad-linked shoota to the kind used generally in WH40K-world (like described by Stormy)
- added side-plates to the trukk tray

While waiting for further suggestions, I'll start making wartrakk (a "tricycle" with tracks)..

Stormrage
Oct 23, 2007, 10:55 AM
Perfect! :D

aaglo
Oct 23, 2007, 02:17 PM
Here's a preview of the wartrak so far. The weapon is just a placeholder, I'll do something that'll look like this:

I think I'll have to check on the sizes of these units. Should the trukk be slightly bigger than a land-raider? And the trakk maybe slightly bigger than a space-moron bike? I know orks are big, so their vehicles should be pretty big too :yup:

Stormrage
Oct 25, 2007, 03:26 AM
Yep, bigger on both accounts..

LizardmenRule!
Oct 25, 2007, 03:41 AM
The trukk definately should not be bigger than a landraider. a battlewagon is the size of a landraider. but nothing i civ is really to scale, so it doesnt really matter much

the wartrak is bigger than a bike tho

aaglo
Oct 25, 2007, 04:55 AM
Ok, thanks. I'll render them on "appropriate" size :)

aaglo
Oct 25, 2007, 04:48 PM
I started making the animations for the bigtrukk. Now, it's slightly longer than the landraider, because if it was roughly the same size, then the wartrakk would be almost the same size too. And as I've said before - orks do things big way ;)

And according to the run-animation I already did, they don't use shock absorbers either
