I will leave this here, but am NO LONGER updating, since Mamba has incorporated Next War into his MOD COMP, to those that liked it, thx, just use Diversica then.

Diversica, changed alittle bit, added some civs and a terrain Interface.

Next War has been added to his great MOD here.

EDIT: It takes about 3-5 minutes for it to unpack(unzipped), be patient.

EDIT EDIT: Once unpacked, it takes about 3-5 minutes for it to load when trying to start, so again be patient, it has a TON of artwork.

well, its just like any other MOD you unzip it and cut and paste it into the BtS MOD area, and play.:mischief:

EDIT: It takes about 10 minutes for it to unpack, be patient.

I like it alot, but i have never messed with the city files and i have no idea how to do that part. sorry, if i could i would have city changes for each and every civ i put out.

How do I get the icons for building in cities and give orders to my troops?
I´m eager to play the mod but now it´s to dificult.

Its easy you change the art style to meditarean and it will use the meditarean cities, its the xml document Amazons_CIV4CivilizationInfos.xml

Make sure you change only the artstyle and not the unit artstyle.

Well, assuming you have the citystyle artset included (which you do as this is based on Diversica which in turn includes Ethnical Artstyles), you would replace the <ArtStyleType> definition with ARTSTYLE_MEDITERRANEAN.

As for the time it takes to unpack and load, this is dependent on your PC, it takes pretty much exactly 2 minutes for me (and my PC is not high end, it was 2 years ago).

If your just talking about changing the artstyle from what i have "Greco Roman to "Med" then whats the use, it really wont change anything in looks?? Right?? If its a "CITY" set then i cant find it anyplace, sorry??

If you didn't find it, you haven't looked hard enough. The string is found in GlobalTypes.xml, CIV4CityLSystem.xml and CIV4PlotLSystem.xml so it better do something ;)

Just change it and you will notice that the cityset (i.e. buildings) will be different.

The order menu is blank, no buttons to press and I cant change my production before its finnished. Its nothing there to see and nothing to click on. Sorry it works on other mods and vanilla so my settings ar´nt ascue.

Only thing i can think of is, that you must have gotten a bad d/l.
Re-d/l and let me know thx, plus if it still doing this, a savedgame would be nice, thx.;)

i have the same problem on the menů, totally without any words or button...

could it be due to my italian version of bts? Others mods work fine.
I have this problem with overlord mod too.

I have found out that is mainly due to not clearing out the custom assets stuff that might be in there. Also if that doesnot work try deleting the resource folder then go into the XML artdefines area and delete the file Misc. See if the first works first, thx. Also is this the new Updated version or the old one?
I had the same problem with the Ice Age MOD and after clearing out the cashe and custom assets folder, it started to work.

I tried to delete the misc file, but it doesn't change anything.
And the custom assets are already clean.
I tried to reinstall too. :(

OK just updated version 1, as of 6:30 pm, 20 Oct 07.

There are no problems with this, should work great!!!
Infact i know there are only cosmetic problems.

Should be working fine there, i have had no problems with that MOD. You have to make sure you dont rename anything, not even the MOD itself and make sure you put it in the correct folder, the same folder that AfterWorld/Broken Star/Defense/Next War, etc are in.
And yes i agree NFW is great.

I have no complainants on that MOD, NONE!

Just to be clear, we play this with 3.13 right ? frederick, yes I'm sure they update when you add BTS.

Yeppers all my MODs are 3.13 updated. And its better to manually update Civ4, just a personal thing i guess. If your unsure best to d/l the update and see if you can install it.

Like i said i know for a fact there is nothing wrong with any of my MODs, as of right now, they all work GREAT.

I found a thing: when loaded the mod it seem without button and words, but infact they are there, but invisible! I remember the exact position and tried to start a game. That's work, but also in the game all words are gone/invisible. It's a strange error of my pc/civ versione i can't understad why in some mods it happen...and in some others no...
For example, with FFh,wolfshanze,XL,warhammer and some other is ok. And with yours, the history in the making,overlord it happen...Any idea?

i noticed a slight bug. while playing as the israelis, when i make macemen and knights and they start out with promotions, none of the unit buttons appear -- promotions, fortify, etc. however, i can still send them around and the F hotkey works to make them sit down. this problem persists until they have to upgrade again, so it seems to go away after they fight a bit. i'll attach a save.

but so far, wonderful mod -- i love the flags and color and the various different civs.

next diverse war and next fantasy war are both yours mods right? How can it be that in one i see the interface and not in the other...i'll try to open all the folders and look for something about the interface -__-

Sure actually its quite easy, all you need to do is delete the FOLDER resources the one next to Assets and Public Maps, then go into Assets/XML/Art/ and delete the FILE CIV4ArtDefines_Misc. Poof done, back to blue.:p

Looks great! A couple of minor cosmetic bugs around but for the rest looks good.

Japan is pretty much plagued with graphic errors, lots of textures show as pitch black and the Knights horses' hooves are all bent - I liked the Varietas Delectat Japanese unit composition a lot better. The axeman being a ninja is a bit... eeh.


Also I think the Native American musketeers were messed up, if I recall correctly.

Anyway, thanks for this mod! It is really enjoyable past the little kinks!

EDIT: Since Mamba has NOW incorporated Next War in his Diversica, i no longer see a need for this MOD, so this will be the last post of this MOD, and to those that liked it, pls play or use Diversica, and thx to Mamba again for letting me use it before, thx.

Well, since this mod is based on mine (and thus the bugs in this case would be mine), I'll add my two cents.

There may be potential problems with 4 japanese units, the cannon, cavalry, grenadier and rifleman. At least new .nif files were released in the meantime which should fix the black texture issues.

As the old ones worked correctly for me as well (I do check the units I add before releasing a new version to catch such errors), I have no way of knowing if they actually fix anything.

You could give the (supposed) fix (http://forums.civfanatics.com/uploads/124601/Div_Japan_fix.zip) a try however. Extract the zip in your mods directory and see if the textures now are corrected.

The difference between the old and the new versions are changed shaders, so this does sound like a driver issue to me (esp. since most people do not have problems displaying the old versions correctly). But since there is a potential fix, you might as well give it a try ;)

As to the bent horse of the japanese knight, this too looks correct for me and it uses the correct animation (as specified by the creator of the unit), which usually would be responsible for such problems. So as I do use the correct animation and it shows correctly for me, there is little I can do to resolve this (or maybe it isn't actually the knight but another horseman ? so pictures would be appreciated).
