View Full Version : What is your most used map type in normal BTS games? mnstot Oct 07, 2007, 04:14 PM Pretty simple, just curious to see how others play. Rex rgis of Ter Oct 07, 2007, 04:17 PM I like Big aand Small, it has a nice balance between naval and land battles. bonafide11 Oct 07, 2007, 05:48 PM Too many options, should've just selected like 5 or so... shaunthegreat Oct 07, 2007, 07:54 PM I usually go for terra. It usually allows me to get a late land grab. Ormur Oct 07, 2007, 10:49 PM Same here. Once I managed to win a domination victory with only two wars. Imperator1984 Oct 08, 2007, 02:43 AM I usually only play earth maps, very rarely do I play other maps. My fav maps would have to be Rhyes and Fall 600 A.D and Earth 1000 A.D. In the next expansion i'd like to see a couple new European oriented scenarios. Perhaps an Ottoman invasion of Europe scenario and a Teutonic Knights/Crusades scenario. jkp1187 Oct 08, 2007, 06:08 AM Other -- Refar's Random Script Chooser (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=236835). It randomly picks Archipelago, Fractal, Pangaea, Hemispheres, Big&Small, Medium&Small, or Terra. Tectonics (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=149278) is good, too. Generates a completely random map but uses a sort of simulated tectonic plate action to build the continents. Munch Oct 08, 2007, 06:13 AM Hemispheres and Big_and_Small are great, interesting map types; I've regressed to Pangaea though (natural coastline, naturally) because I know I won't need a last ditch transport-building effort to take out Willem's cultural powerhouse from across the sea. That and there's more chance of war in Pangaea; in other map types threats from AI on another landmass are pretty idle. Also, tactical nukes are far more useful in Pangaea! So yeah, that's it really. pauluslupus Oct 08, 2007, 06:39 AM Hemispereres is my favorite map type for BTS. I usually go for arid condition and high sea level, what somewhat slow down the uncontrolled grow of empires and enable extended use of bonus resources. |
