View Full Version : Does this game not have a Quest Log?

Is there a "Quest book" in the game that I am not seeing? It seems a little rediculous that if I load up my game, I do not have a way of knowing what quests I have. I currently have a Hotseat game I am playing and we are not sure exactly what quests we were given and those that we do know we don't remember the number.

For instance one quest was to build X swordsmen before the medieval era. But we don't remember what X is.

Anyone know if there is a way to check your current quests?

Yes there is a quest log. The tab is hidden in another thing. I think it's top left. Where it shows a log of everything happening. One of the tabs is quests.

Go to the scroll in the top left, and by the Events log and Combat log there is one for quests. It only shows active quests that you know about, though, so even if you have completed a quest, it won't show it in the list.

I'd like a more complete implementation of a quest log myself, but this works for the time being.

Thanks guys. I probably wouldnt have found that for a while. The only time I ever look in the chat log box is when I am watching combat figures which isn't often. So thanks for that. :D

That swordsman quest is awesome. All melee troops get Drill 1 for the rest of the game if you are running Herditary rule.

That's a nice benefit.

I only found it because I was searching for one as well. It took me awhile to find it.

This was very helpful. However, I don't see any quest reward I have recieved in the event log or the quest log. The quest log quest just disappears. What did I get?

You have to watch the ordinary events log at the top of the screen. Sometimes, it will flash by whether or not you have failed the quest, and many players fail to notice (I do all the time). If its been a few turns, then you might have to do some searching to find it.

If you succeed, there will be another "event" box that appears in the upper right that will let you pick a reward.

What I'd like to know is what quests (and events) are potentially available to me. For example, should I keep my gold above 1000 in the hope of getting the Federal Reserve event, or is that event not active ? Is the Corporate Expansion quest active ?

I think they leave you in the dark on purpose---it's kind of an incentive for keeping your treasury high in case the unforseen happens. Yet that tanks your research rate......

EDIT: It would be a nice mod if you could sacrifice a GP to trigger a quest of a particular type. Like maybe questbulb a Great Prophet to start the Holy Mountain quest.

As far as I know, there is no way to see whether or not a particular event is active in the game...as the poster before me said, I think they decided to keep it dark on purpose.

I don't think the Fed. event takes over a 1000 gold, though...for some reason, I thought it was much lower, in the 500 range.
