Have been playing on prince normal size and speed and for the first few BtS games did well and thought I might try monarch, as I was just beggining to do pre BtS.

Decided to make sure with a couple more prince games and have only won one since:(

I am almost certainly going to win my current game by sticking to a SE as pericles by space race as couldn't be bothered to get enough land from the other continent to dominate.

I am thinking I have had a losing streak as confidence, plainly misplaced, has left me thinking I can do SE or CE quite well so why not have the best of both and have an SE city/GP farm and a few cities with loads of cottages inc capital and a really good production city or two.

The question is this hybrid strat doomed to failure as it waters down the purity of SE or CE that is necessary for sucess or is it doable and I am just having a few bad games.

Logic tells me that having seperate cities specialised to different things should be OK but I am thinking that ih the early game when it is often all decided you should be getting the gains of uniform SE or CE and thats when the hybrid weakens you too much to get the most out of what may work later on.

Is hybrid doable or is that somethin to change to later on as the various threads and war academies mention, particularly if you start SE.

I don't like strats. I'd rather a telecaster.
