View Full Version : Dumb Question About Resettlement
sennomulo Oct 20, 2007, 11:27 PM Do the stability points added by adopting Resettlement count for cities founded when I was running some other stability civic? Or do I only get points for cities founded after I switch to Resettlement?
I'm playing as England and I've got about a dozen turns of Golden Age left, and I don't want to waste those turns on anarchy, but I'm also founding a whole bunch of overseas colonies.

Well, since it says "for every city founded 15 tiles away", I believe conquering does not count.
sdLeo Oct 21, 2007, 02:48 PM I'd love to hear the 'official' answer to that question myself...
Zhuge_Liang Oct 23, 2007, 10:04 AM Rhye? Reply! sdLeo wants an official answer!!!!!
Riker Oct 23, 2007, 11:05 AM I believe that you gain the stability only for cities founded after the switch. And not for the conquered, too,Since it clearly states founded and not conquered. If you are longing for an accurate answer, just mess around with WB and try
Corm Oct 23, 2007, 02:30 PM I've tried to answer the question (s) myself with WB and I still cant work it out.
I think it counts any cities that are over 15 tiles away conquered or founded previous to the switch but I never had a big enough empire "at home" when I tested to be sure (England on Viceroy). Soooo an official statement would be nice. ;)
meril Oct 23, 2007, 04:33 PM The python code says only while under Resettlement, +2 when you found a city yourself at least 15 tiles away from the capital (in addition to the +1 you normally get for founding a city). Unless there is an additional check somewhere else, I'm inclined to believe you have to do it under the right civic and it doesn't cover conquests.

It's what I thought too, I just needed confirmation ;)

Thanks for looking, in fact the pedia is not clear at all, since if you conquer a city that has been founded 15 tiles from your capital it indeed falls into the category of "every city founded 15 tiles away", there is no specification about the fact that it must be your civilization to found it (but the name of the civic strongly suggests it).
