Hehehe..

FredLC

I voted for South Korea.

Considering how well the "previsions" went in the early pool, i'm hoping no one here votes in Brazil at all.

JoeM

Dunno how do you make a thread sticky?

Who do I WANT to win? - ---- > ENGLAND

Who do I THINKwill win? --- SPAIN or ITALY

Who do I LIKE to watch most?-----> BRAZIL

Sodak
Jun 14, 2002, 07:23 AM
Yes, Brazil is fun to watch - nobody can stop them from scoring, they can't stop their opponents. Goooooooooooool!

I think it will be (yawn) Brazil, Italy, or Germany. I want somebody new to win - Spain, perhaps? Senegal would be fun to see win, tho the odds are rather slim... I still say Denmark should not be overlooked.

England all the way

I would like England to win but its probably more likely that Brazil or Spain will win.

Globber
Jun 14, 2002, 09:58 AM
I say Espana, cuz' they have thrashed all their opponents, and along with Brazil, are the only team with a perfect record so far, although I think the matches against Leprechaun land, Pasta land, and Weinerschnitzel land(I hope) are gonna be quite tough.

There isn't one "indestructable" team left. Spain and Brazil have dodgy defence (wihch so far there exceptional offence has managed to hide). The Brazillian defence was atrocious in their last two games.
After watching Italy playing yesterday I can't wait for Ireland to play against their new long ball tactics in the quarters.
England have a tendancy to overestimate themselves, and should be beaten by Brazil, provided the great Danes don't do it first. (I wouldn't bet against the Danes in that game).
Germany may still surprise me, but I don't know.

I want korea to win, (oh why isn't Canada there...:( )
but if i had to bet all my money on any of does 16, it would be Spain.

Italy

I still think Germany will become WC.

There football is not the most beautiful to watch, but they normally perform better in the later stages of a tournament.

FredLC
Jun 14, 2002, 02:18 PM
I don't know if they will win, but it's surely the strongest german team since their last victory in 1990.

Despite that, i don't believe in Germany. So far, no real oposition (the same is true to Brazil, i give you that) except Cameroon, not one of the favourites, and they were enough to required everything Germany had to offer.

Plus, in the semi-finals, it's very likely that they'll have to face either Italy or Spain. I think any of those should be able to beat them.

Of course, with so many surprises in this WC, you never really know...

I want USA to win, but i think Germany will take it. I want USA vs. Germany as the final match :)

Dell19
Jun 15, 2002, 12:43 AM
I don't think that its actually possible for the USA and Germany to play in the final. They would have to meet each other in the quarter finals, I believe.

FredLC
Jun 15, 2002, 03:09 AM
You are right. dell, in the event of both winning their games, they'll met in the next round.

Hey this year Germany is human and Mexico and the USA are about even. The US will go to the semi-finals this year.

Go USA!

Japan!!

Japan wins the World Cup!:p
Did you see how they played against Russia and Tunesia?
The Russian fans went mad in Moscow... guess they didn't have a Colosseum there;)

Hmmm... anyway, I think they play well!

Damn... Brazil took the lead, even without my vote.

Hope our previsions are better now after we had the 1th round to practise...

I think we'd have been semi finalists, minimum, with Keane, but I still say we win it anyway.

Dell19

I think Ireland will probably go out in the quarter finals...England will of course win the cup...

I can say with confidence that Ireland and Sweden will not win the World Cup.

My vote is with America.

U - S - A !!!

But my Money is on Spain, hehehe....

We are down to

Spain - Korea
Germany - USA
Turkey - Senegal
England - Brazil

Who woulda thunk it? I'll cheer for the USA, tho anything other than Germany - Brazil will be fine with me. Alas, that is what I expect we'll see...

I would hope that Brazil would win... But unfortunatly England seems to be in a very good shape...

Xeven the God
Jun 18, 2002, 02:15 PM
I hope the Usa can pull it off, but I doubt it. Germany's defence an offence are pretty good, and ours aren't... I expect to be stomped 5-0 or something like that...

Ah, whatever, GO USA!

This has nothing to do with the fact that I drew them in a World Cup Sweep!!

Jun 19, 2002, 05:28 AM
Korea has a run and will defeat Spain.Germany beats USA because we are more lucky.Senegal wins because FIFA wants to keep an African in.Brazil wins because they have the best players in the world.Germany is again lucky and beats Korea,FIFA keeps Senegal in,so final is Senegal-Germany.And now luck comes into play...

See how logical and predetermined this is!

Just wondering, what the hell is everyone going to talk about in the sports forum after the World Cup gets over?

Like 90% of the threads are related to the World Cup. :king:

AVN

Chris85,

Don't worry.
The following football competions will start very soon, namely the Intertoto and the qualification rounds of the Champions league.
After that the national competions and the Champions League will start. Everyone in Europe likes to discuss them.
Furthermore the qualification rounds of EURO 2004 will start.
So don't be afraid there will be enough football to discuss. :p
