View Full Version : Who uses The BUG? Time to be known!
alerum68 Oct 24, 2007, 04:12 PM Alright, usually we can know how many users a mod will have based on the download history, but ours has one slight problem with that... SVN. Yes, by making the code available to the users as soon as it's created, we have removed that ability. Sure, we get stats on reads/writes for the SVN, but that really isn't very accurate for that.
So, just to satisfy my own curiosity I'm asking all you End Users out there to speak up! If you use The BUG, then please make a post, (just one!), to let us know you use the Mod. You can put a brief bio in, your favorite thing about The BUG Mod, or just write the min for posting.;)
Please, we know it's hard to resist the urge to reply to what someone else wrote, but DON'T! Just post your 1 post, and don't reply to anyone elses.:p I'll willing to make woodelf hate me by deleteing post.:p:p
Can't resist: Ruff, no one is downloading it from site I think, but from the SVN.:p No matter where we put it, by the time a release is put together and released, there is already another change and people already have that, so no one bothers to get the full version.:p

LiDDiS Oct 24, 2007, 04:36 PM yep (123456)
ruff_hi Oct 24, 2007, 04:51 PM I use it but I have always wondered why the release versions aren't available from the CFC download site so that you could track the D/Ls of those copies.
Anthrax Oct 24, 2007, 06:10 PM i do..... missing BAT which I liked b4 the 3.13 update...:( ....... just need to compare the changes in like 4-5 xml files... anyways i will wait patiently....
GP Bar is my favorite with the city commerce/production breakdown a close second.

ChinaBlue Oct 27, 2007, 03:12 AM I'm using BUG 3.13 and wouldn't want to play without.
Will use BAT also when ready for 3.13.
Roland Johansen Oct 27, 2007, 04:38 AM I'm using bug and bat. I doubt that every player using this mod is regularly looking in this subforum and thus this thread will only get a post from a small section of the players using this mod.
·Imhotep· Oct 27, 2007, 07:01 AM Yiiiiiiiiihaaaaaaaaa ! I'm using BUG and will use BAT once it's stable with 3.13...
OTAKUjbski Oct 29, 2007, 03:27 PM I use BUG ... not sure what BAT is.
NikNaks Oct 30, 2007, 03:15 AM BAT is BtS Artistic Tweaks (formerly FBUG).
mice Oct 30, 2007, 03:21 AM Use it . GPP bar ,,, click on it and go to the relevant city. Yes I use it.
Amra Oct 30, 2007, 09:05 AM I've just recently stepped back into the realm of Civ4 modding and am using BUG in the BTS version of my modpack that I am working on. With full credit to the talented BUG Team, of course. :goodjob:

BAT - waiting on v3.13 compatibility to try it. ;)

I really enjoy the CivAlerts, the attitude icons and the enhanced domestic advisor.
CellKu Nov 03, 2007, 12:00 PM I finally got around to install BUG and play with it. And I must say: :goodjob: !! Thanks a lot for your efforts!! It is really fantastic! Especially the way you have made everything optional. I am looking forward to the updated BAT. :)

Derbus Nov 10, 2007, 06:31 PM Waiting to try out BAT, but finding BUG to be really helpful :)
Admiral Vader Nov 17, 2007, 02:17 PM My favorites are the Uber-Domestic Advisor and the smooth Scores Display.
Downloaded from SF and via SVN.

Birdmanthepuny Nov 29, 2007, 09:58 AM Just downloaded BUG...love it
psob2 Nov 30, 2007, 02:30 PM bmarnz included bug2.11 in his latest version of marnzmod, so i got a chance to try BUG.
the bug mod is a terrific addition to civ4. now that i've played with it working, i can't imagine playing civ4 without the bug mod. imho its that much of an improvement to the base game interface. the civ4 alerts, power ratio, improved interface, and better advisor screens are just some of the features i've been enjoying.
thank you for everyone's time and effort in making this great addition
77alex77 Dec 02, 2007, 07:09 AM Using BUG. It's really great!
Never want to go without again... :goodjob:
Grave Dec 16, 2007, 10:27 AM I currently use the BUG mod as part of History in the Making (see sig).
Purest Warrior Dec 16, 2007, 05:37 PM Can't play without it.
MinonBer Dec 22, 2007, 03:12 AM Waiting for BAT, always use BUG
Lord_Zath Dec 25, 2007, 11:18 AM I'll be downloading BUG soon. Probably BAT, too, though didn't realize there was a compatibility problem. I'm running 3.13 and Bhuric's, which I see doesn't interfere with BUG. Not sure what SVN is though (can someone PM me the answer?)
Edit: I installed it then realized multiplayer didn't work because I installed with the first option (replacing customassets). I fixed that. Now I'm noticing that the scoreboard doesn't show if I have "advanced options" are enabled. This is in multiplayer only (single player works fine). Also, logging is constantly enabled at the start of a game unless I disable it right away. Doesn't this slow down the process of creating and continuing a new game? I'll be reading through the bug reports thread shortly and reporting these if I don't see them.
Balderstrom Dec 26, 2007, 07:09 PM Just installed it, since I recently started playing BTS and beforehand was using Ruff's Cobbled plus a handful of others. I must say kuuuuudos :-)
krille Mar 02, 2008, 04:02 AM BUG is the . .. .. .. .. Haven't tried BAT yet though.
Lord_Zath Mar 02, 2008, 02:00 PM Is BAT available for 3.13 yet?
Anthrax Mar 04, 2008, 06:27 PM no it is not yet available...
Defectiv Mar 10, 2008, 03:16 AM Using BUG and loving it. Wouldn't want to go back to default :)
This is so much better!
Would try bat if it was for 3.13
NikNaks Mar 10, 2008, 01:40 PM It is for 3.13, thanks to alerum.
Lord_Zath Mar 10, 2008, 06:06 PM wait... bat's available for 3.13 now? Since when?! And how do I get it? I tried Alerum's link and all it says is BAT for 3.03...
alerum68 Mar 10, 2008, 06:24 PM (pushes all of you roughly out of this tread, holding up the sign about post rules in this thread.) BAT is only on the SVN. I had it ready to go, then was told to put it on hold while someone was going to make it work in the CustomAssets vs Mod folder, but they never completed it and so it's been stuck on the SVN since then. Now, don't reply me here and move this somewhere else!
EagleFixer May 08, 2008, 06:17 AM I got bit by the Bug and love it.
Navarre May 08, 2008, 09:55 PM *raises hand*
BAT mod here, got to love all these units. BUG is good for the time it saves me from having to check what's going on, I have all the infos I need (or almost) right there on the screen.
Keep up the good work. :)
JujuLautre May 09, 2008, 04:33 AM I !
did not try BAT yet though
mystyfly May 11, 2008, 11:51 AM BUG for me, didn't try BAT yet.
Best features? Scoreboard, GPBar, Civ4lerts
Bleys May 12, 2008, 09:38 PM I use it.
I used to be an HoF guy, but I like the "no MOD loaded" install of BUG, which allows me to play all kinds of RPCs and series games without having to mess around with the saves.
Balderstrom May 12, 2008, 09:45 PM Yeah I came across HoF and Ruffs pack at about the same time. Went with Ruffs on Warlords. Then found this later on. Hof is kinda interesting but seems like if you don't have a need to Brag why limit yourself so.
stagnate May 12, 2008, 10:09 PM BAT and BUG make me happy.
oranges May 15, 2008, 07:44 PM Can no longer imagine playing without BUG :thanx:
GreyFox May 21, 2008, 02:20 AM BUG ... but often get too lazy to keep up to date.
mmm11105 May 21, 2008, 06:38 PM User and big fan.
Whenever I load other mods I already start to miss these features.
Downloading the new BUG right now.
Nishdog Jun 24, 2008, 05:44 PM I'm a BUG user. I may use BAT again, too, but was having issues with a few changes I made so I'm not sure about that one.
Now that I figured out this SVN thing, I think it's genius :)
Ace of Spades Jun 25, 2008, 05:18 AM I do use BUG, but not BAT. Trying to combine it with other mods though, as I like earth maps and most of these come with custom mods.
So far I successfully combined BUG with the Giant Earth Map mod without any troubles save those caused by my own stupidity.
Best Regards,
Ace
mudfoot Jun 25, 2008, 02:37 PM BAT & BUG user.
Very pleased user at that! Big :goodjob: for the modders!!
PreLynMax Jul 02, 2008, 05:04 AM I don't, I used JKP's Next War Revolutions. However, my nephew uses the BUG mod because he's a newbie.
ricardojahns Jul 04, 2008, 11:24 PM BUG since... I don't recall. Civ4 has never been the same after BUG. It's approaching perfection now.
Bunk Moreland Jul 05, 2008, 11:44 PM Just installed, and LOVING it!
Great job, fantastic work!
Kalimakhus Jul 06, 2008, 09:50 AM I use BUG since a long time. Recently I started updating through SVN and must say I love it so much this way.
I tried BAT before 3.17. I usually add VD to BUG however.
Lemon Merchant Jul 11, 2008, 07:54 PM I can't play without BUG. When I went to 3.17 and BUG messed up I went nuts!
Then I figured out the SVN thingie and all was right with the world. I'm still eagerly awaiting 3.0 for my laptop. Work machine -> Civ = ok, unauthorized code storage system = bad. So says IT guy, but hospitals are so paranoid...
BTW, whoever gets BAT working for 3.17 gets a big hug from me!
ruff_hi Jul 16, 2008, 12:31 PM BTW, whoever gets BAT working for 3.17 gets a big hug from me!LM, you should direct your attention to Alerum. I'm sure he would love a hug!
PaulusIII Jul 16, 2008, 02:21 PM Using BUG/BAT now. Excellent work!
Once I ran BAT for the first time I can't turn it off anymore. The units look sooo much better than the original.
Lemon Merchant Jul 16, 2008, 07:46 PM LM, you should direct your attention to Alerum. I'm sure he would love a hug!
Big hug for you, Alerum! :)
Thanks a bunch!
exero Jul 21, 2008, 05:32 PM I recently got addicted to civ, huge pc gamer and mod fan. I like to see all the small numbers and details in strategy games so finding this was great. :goodjob:
3iff Jul 25, 2008, 01:17 AM Tried it for the first time last night...and it's like playing in colour after seeing the game only in black&white...Somewhat overwhelmed by the accessible info, but I'm off to read the docs on it...
Excellent!
Cybah Jul 25, 2008, 01:43 PM Using it in my mod, can't miss it anymore. :goodjob:
Tboy Aug 01, 2008, 06:24 AM User here, although frustrated at getting it to work with revolutions (it's cruel to make us choose!).
Nicopol Aug 03, 2008, 03:56 PM using it now - thx for the great work :goodjob:
edit:
after a few days of testing i dont know if i ever can play a game without BUG
impressive mod!
gnome Aug 06, 2008, 09:18 PM BAT 1.0, can't civ without it!!!
Thanks for such an awesome mod!
I had assembled something similar for Civ3, and almost felt a step backwards in civ4... until this.
Wacky Aug 20, 2008, 05:22 AM Hail, to the power of information :goodjob:
