I just got this strange bug that won't let me take the next turn. I hit space bar as usual and wound up stuck in the "Waiting for other Civs" message. I saved and reloaded and it still says the same thing.

Really annoying...

Btw...longest I've waited is 30 minutes. (not on purpose! Actually went to cook dinner)

I had the exact same problem several times before and posted it, but didn't get any reaction.:dunno:
But since the latest patch, it hasn't happened to me.

From my experience generally when you have to wait ages it's because your state has collapsed into civil war. It'll load eventually.

No, that's something different. In this situation, you can even access the advisors and the menu, which you cannot when your game is, actually, loading.

Oh I see... Can't think of anything I'm afraid, it's never happened to me.

Yep I can still go into all the menus, even examine cities...but I can't zoom in or out.

Rhye has mentioned before that this is a BTS problem. It ruined my first Dutch game. I have never been able to recover from it, even if you go back many turns.

It hasn't happened to me since the latest patch.

No offense, but I'm not sure if that game bugging up is such a big loss. I don't think I've ever seen a game in such an epic state of failure before. What where you trying to do exactly?

Yeah I guess if you consider a weeks worth of time "not a big loss"...

I didn't do anything more than usual, just building units up.

I've got a different "Waiting for Civs" problem. I even have some useful information on what causes it now.

So, my current game, as the Spanish, has been hung up for over 10 hours at this point, with "Waiting for other civs". However, the spinning globe has been replaced by the normal cursor. In addition, it hung up as i ended the year 1760, and is flashing the "Isabella won a historical victory" on the bottom.

I experienced a similar hang up with India at the same 'time' (Asoka has won an historical victory).

Here's what I think the proximal cause is, as I was later able to complete the Asoka game by replaying the last turn and making peace with China. In both cases I lost a unit in combat after ending my turn on the turn I would win an historical victory. In the india case, making it so i didn't lose a unit solved the problem. (Not possible in the spanish case - germany won't talk to me yet). This particular problem sounds like an RFC problem, not a BTS problem.

But it's obviously the high middle ages and you're still in the stone age? I'm not sure what you were exactly trying to do. It literally looks like India is about to completely collapse, and is hopelessly behind everyone in everything.
