Apostolic Palace. A world wonder tied to a religion which functions as a medieval equivalent of the UN. One of the possible votes proposed by the char of the AP is to declare a holy crusade against another Civ. I think this is what happened to you. If this resolution passes, every Civ with the AP religion will declare war on the "infidel".

But he has the same religion (looks like he is Isabella). If that was the case, they would be declaring war on Brennis, Ramesses or Tokugawa.

post a save, it probably is a holy war - the others may be members of the AP which probably is not Buddhist and only you an Isa are not - so you did not see the AP elections and the others where forced into the war by whomever owns the AP (I'd suspect either Brennus or Ramesses)

Actually it definitely looks like a holy battle.

Brennus probably built the AP. All the other civs have at least one city with Hinduism. Thus, they are all included in the vote. You, as not having any Hindu cities, are thus "heathen" to the AP.

The fact that all your "friends" have Buddhism as their State Religion is irrelevant. As long as they didn't Veto the vote, they are forced to comply with the war against you.

It looks like you're definatly "heathen", you'll have to wait 10 turns to get peace (but try earlier, I've had occasions when AP-resolutions have turned the world against me, but the very next turn I've been able to change the hearts of my former best friends, even the one that proposed the resolution in the first place).
Check your gamelog to see who built the Apostolic Palace.

Since you are at war, try overtaking a Hindu city, that'll make you a voting member and stop the AI from voting against you as you're no longer heathen.

If you then spread hinduism to all your cities and change your state religion to hinduism, you'll become a full member. This'll give all your hindu temples/monestaries 2 hammers each, and if you have a lot of cities, you might even be elected president of AP and thus in charge of the resolutions.

Good luck.

Odd, I've never seen a massive declaration like that without the AP, but it's still possible. It seems too early in the game for there to be many (if any) vassals, as well. It must just be a freak occurrence of somebody bribing everyone to declare on you. I've definitely had 4-5 civs declare on me at once for that reason, so 7 isn't that much further of a stretch.

Yeah... I bribed everyone here... But problem is, i checked, all were furious, they wouldnt allow a bribe. Anyway, Bismarck was Friendly at the time, to Furious against Rammy...

Well, once you finish that AP you may be able to call a vote to end the infighting between brothers, or something like that. You will still need a majority of the civs to vote to do so (even though they just declared war on you), but I've found that even the aggressors often vote in favor of such a resolution. Finishing the AP could be the only way you ca survive.

I don't suppose that vassalage played a role in this, did it?

No vassals. If there was, then someone would have 21481274218421874 points for having almost everyone vassalised
