What techs (in game terms) would be useful to nomadic civs?
What would a nomad-oriented tech tree look like?
What kinds of improvements & wonders would fit with a nomadic culture?

What is it? Sounds like some kind of sports field.

It's basically a festival ground. Here's a pic of the modern Naadam festival at Ulanbaatar:

Pre-modern Naadam fields would simply be huge open fields for events with tents and yurts around for shelter and a place to feast.

- Feigned Retreat (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feigned_retreat) -- the Scythians, Parthians and Mongols were experts at this tactic
- Organized Hunting (what do you call that Mongol hunting method? Those huge excursions to basically circle a large area and force the game into a smaller and smaller circle? The Plains Indians did something similar with forcing buffalo to jump off cliffs...)
