I'm new to multiplayer.
Anyone know what -gs signifies at the end of people's nicknames?
Also, what the hell kind of language are people speaking in the chat? It's all backwards talk to me.

gs means gamespy

Vast majority of civ players use gamespy(a chat program) to talk in lobby - since it's way lighter than conquests, plus it has the option to send private msgs, open private chatrooms, mute people...

And big part of civ players speak english on lobby, but of course once in a while some people show up talking on they own language (Lots of brazilians, frenchs, spanish and russians on lobby)
