The 10.5 cm leFH 18 was the standard divisional field howitzer used during the Second World War. It was designed and developed by Rheinmetall in 1928 and entered service with the Wehrmacht in 1935. The leFH18 remained in service with the German Army until 1945. Before 1938 the leFH 18 was exported to Hungary and Spain. 53 units were also exported to Finland, where they were known as 105 H 33.

Gary Childress Nov 03, 2007, 12:44 PM Hi Partizanac, I'm working on a British 25pdr at the moment, however I'll make the "Schneider" m-907,75mm my next project. I can scan Google images for some photos and drawings but if you have any handy please send them my way. :)
Samez Nov 03, 2007, 02:04 PM IIRC the 105mm artillery was still horse-tracked. Can't find a source at the moment to prove or to deny it...
Would be cool if this could be implemented in the run animation if anyone alse can confirm my information...
Partizanac Nov 03, 2007, 02:28 PM well, I would scan google too!:D
just note when you get to him! it shouldn't be a regular gun but a AA gun ;)
Thanks dude!! I can't wait :D

I would guess this was true. The German army utilized horses a great deal in WW2. That would be a cool animation. Way beyond my capabilities but maybe someone else might be able to manage it. Even just moving it along like the regular artillery in Civ would be cool in my book. :)
Pounder Nov 04, 2007, 07:55 AM Looks good, hope it gets done.
Gary Childress Nov 04, 2007, 04:30 PM Thanks pounder. I've also been working on an updated version which I just posted. There's a little more detail in the legs and on the gun mount. I hope everyone likes this one better.

Hi Partizanac I can't find any other pictures on Google for this weapon. Do you know of where any are? I can't really get much idea of what the weapon looked like from this one. :(
Partizanac Nov 06, 2007, 05:34 AM It seems I can't find any other images too!
can't you do it based on this picture? you can be a bit creative ;)

I'll give it a go and see if it looks half way decent.
Is the gun going to be on the ground in a field gun role or will it be up on a kind of pedastol like it is in the photo?
Partizanac Nov 06, 2007, 09:47 AM Create it with pedastol, cause if someone creates him and choose not to use pedastol he can easily remove it ;)
