I don't seem to be able to delete my unwanted entries in the Hall of Fame.Does anyone out there know of a way to do this.I just want to remove some scores not wipe the whole Hall clean.

The hall of fame is stored in:

My Documents > My Games > Sid Meier's Civilization 4 > Replays

Delete any of the files you want.
