Would it be that hard to re-introduce them? Party Nov 13, 2007, 09:44 PM You know what's that sad part? I haven't played any of the other civ games since I got Civ4 I can't remember swamps. :( Someone want to refresh my memory? Fjortisbarn Nov 14, 2007, 01:20 AM They are already a part of Rhye's and Fall of Civilization, one of the scenarios/mods in BtS. But how to make them a part of the regular game, I have no idea. As well as a regular tile, they were part of the global warming mechanism. IIRC when it hits, your coast and river tiles would all turn to swamp, which would take ages to turn back into grassland. In civ2, swamp + resource would give either spices or peat, both of which were pretty good. Woodreaux Nov 14, 2007, 11:41 AM I miss them, too. I'm from New Orleans. Now I live in a desert hill tile with a town planted on it in California. I think [civ3] had swamp tiles. r_rolo1 Nov 14, 2007, 02:26 PM Civ III had swamp tiles...unworkable until drained, reduced by 1 the unit movement ( except if it was 1 of course ), could contain sea resources in it ( you could mine for fish  )... I would not bother to see them in Civ IV Woodreaux Nov 14, 2007, 07:13 PM swamp with recourse: crocodile In the swamp tiles around New Orleans, there are alligator and crawfish resources. Alligators give +1 :food: +2 :gold: (boots from their hide) and Crawfish give +2 :food: (+4 w/Harbor) +1 :health: +1 :) |
