Hello there Civfanatics, this is my first attempt at a serious mod and I hope you like it.

Sengoku-Jidai, or "The Period of the Nation at War" is also known as Japan's warring states period. While not yet as complete as I would like, I think now is a good time to publish the Alpha of this mod to kick up some excitement (and maybe even some recruitment. I am always fine tuning the mod and would love some help.)

Included are 15 new civs complete with animated leaderheads, Unique units, and most have unique buildings at this point as well. A fantasic map created by Feeder74 is included with mostly accurate start locations and city names for each clan. The tech tree still needs alittle work, but hopefully the added techs seem flavorful and unique.

Special thanks has to go to:

Andrew_Jay, without his mod for Warlords I would have been starting from scratch.

Feeder74 for his fantastic map, and for being currently the only other person on the team.

seZereth for his work on Japanese and Chinese themed units.

Bakuel for his asian themed units.

danrell for his fantastic units, which comprise most of the game.

Chamaedrys for his Torii.

Dual for the Shinto religion mod.

Chugginator for his Mongol and Japanese elephant units.

Chamaedrys for his musketmen.

Modfreak for his Asian themed units.

C.Roland for his samurai skin.

strategyonly for his encouragement, as well as his samurai regiment.

Iloveplayciv for his leaderheads.

And if anyone notices thier work in here that I forgot to mention, please post so you can get your due thanks.

(And to note: The game will crash to the desktop at turn 230-300. Just load the last autosave and it seems to work itself right out. This will be fixed as soon as I can figure out what is wrong.)

Put the map that is in Public Maps into your public maps folder in BTS.

OK, its missing a vital part of making a choice then to: play now or pick a scenario or custom scenario. Just personally i NEVER play any maps the MODDERs have made, i only play the maps that i want to play, with the mod i am playing at the time, course thats just me.
And its a good start, looks like the map i made of Korea and Japan.
More units that have the flag on the back would be is nice also. Again, just me.:p

I love this concept and I loved the Warlords version. Will there be unique great persons?

I really like this concept and loved the music from Civ III. But every time I try to produce a missionary the game crashes and kicks me out. Is there going to be a patch for this soon?

Thanks! I've been looking for a Feudal Japan MOD like the one in Civ III.
It looks great! Can't wait for the full version!

Hi,

I gave it a try, but at the current BTS-Version (3.17) it is not working.

When I load the autosave after the crash, the loading crashes.

Greetings:

It hasn't been updated since before 3.17 so don't bother.

The only reason I even know about this period is Shogun Total War.
