I just can't decide were to put this thread, so I'll post it here. If this is the wrong forum, please tell me!

I'm looking for a site that will tell me all about world history. You know, stuff like a list of civilizations in the history of mankind, their great leaders, and their architectural feats, etc.

So..... is there anything like that on the web?

I guess Wikipedia but I don't think there is such a comprehensive site.

Do a google search.

A few good sites I find -
World History Compass (http://www.worldhistorycompass.com/) which has links to history sites sorted by topic.
HyperHistory (http://www.hyperhistory.com/), basically a whole set of charts with brief descriptions similar to an encyclopedia.
MacroHistory (http://www.fsmitha.com/) is a hyperlinked timeline with links to history articles. Very comprehensive and concise.
HistoryWorld (http://www.historyworld.net/) is similar to MacroHistory (although personally I like the other one better).

Livius

Yes that is a great site but it only covers classical history (Rome, Greece, Mesopotamia, etc)

Just play Civ, that's good enough.

Civ? not good enough. You must play it "always".
